This morning, I woke up having a night terror. I can't remember any of it, just that I woke up flailing about and screaming until I sat upright and took deep breaths for the next few minutes. I had trouble falling asleep and got maybe 5 hours of sleep before waking up to the night terror. I also was heat fatigued from being outside all day.

Anyways, I'm now worried about going to sleep tonight. Anons, do any of you have experience with this sort of thing? What should I do, if anything? I almost feel like I'm overreacting and that it was surely a 1-off thing; I don't want to play internet doctor and diagnose myself with bipolar malignant brain tumors. At the same time, I still can't get rid of this feeling of unease.

I have experience with that type of shit.

I've only had a few nighterrors.
But I've found that opening my eyes in the dark brings it on.
If you close your lights, never open your eyes. That helps me.

Also, being drunk as shit helps.
But I don't recommend that

I don't drink because of my shit-tier liver, so getting blackout drunk isn't a viable option.

I guess I'll try to not stare into the dark and see if that helps. Like I said, I'm hoping it was just a 1-off thing from lack of sleep and heat fatigue. I guess I'll just have to wake and see.

I've heard weed really helps, but I've never smoked it.

I started having the hallucinations a long time ago.
Do you see spiders in your bed as you fall asleep?

That used to be my thing. Until I learned never to open my eyes.

Even when sober, never opening my eyes helps me a lot.
When you can see in black and white, then you know you will start seeing things that aren't real.

If you can't ever stop seeing things, maybe try to control them. When I first starting hallucination in my bed, I had a few weeks when I saw things that I shouldn't have. At the end, I had a bit of control. Like it was beautiful almost.

If you can't shut them out, try to control them.
I shut them out with my eyes. If you can't do that, try plan B

I don't really see anything, I just eventually nod off, usually while having a podcast or something running quietly in the background as white noise. My fear is wasps, but I haven't dreamed about them since when I was a kid.

Thanks anon, I'll try what you said.

I used to have night terrors pretty frequently, they stopped when I started seeing a psychologist just to talk about life in general, there was really no specific thing that once we talked about it, the terrors went away.
As for a more practical solution, I found that if I fall asleep with my TV on, I'll sleep like a baby, so there's probably something to do with external stimuli.
