I wish I can make more then one poses. I'm stuck in his animation phase that will never become an animation. I just use this for easy edits. If I wanted to make a new character like Janet for example, I take the head as my template and just make a new character. Its hard, especially when using a mouse to draw. But every once in a while I get something new and great done.

that was my primary inspiration for him. read the book a few months ago and i really liked it and wanted to use the whole concept of "character not meeting expectations of their society" as a trope because it hits hard. his last name is also a reference to BNW. i guess being a Grade-A Certifed Aspie makes me become attached to random characters and concepts, and im really happy you actually managed to catch the reference. here is an explanation that nobody asked for.
i'm trying to develop him to be legitimately interesting now that the basic foundations of his personality and design have been set. i've become so attached to him, which is something i've struggled with trying to do for such a long time. i've been drawing my whole life and up until recently i've never felt a connection to any characters or concepts i made because i was too focused on making the art good, rather than making a character regardless of my skill level. around 2 years ago i made charlie and chantaul, (my main "personas") and they were really the first characters i felt a deep connection to. it's funny because i designed them to be sexually attractive to me and just to have some way to project my feelings, and they just kinda....snowballed into their own thing.

Well here's the thing... I do better on a mouse then with a pencil so...that's going to be a problem. Even if I have 15 years of character and story deveploment experience and 10 years of art. It would be a waste to have a powerful imagination without being able to bring it all into the real world cause I'm too lazy to make a full story of it. If I were to die, all that imagination and talent would be gone forever. And it might be the next big thing in animation since gravity falls, adventure time, or even Wakfu. So unless I have the power to instantly make story-based animations without doing all of the hard work, I'm stuck on 4chan making random images for the rest of my life.

Hmm... Depends on the image. Most of the time I already have the general concept/idea of the image in my mind. Things like character poses, the "story" behind the image, the kinds of things I'll need to do to get certain effects, etc.
Then it's just a matter of trying to get the file to actually look like how I want. Body pose references certainly help. For the foursome up there I went into Daz3D and posed some models the way I wanted (bonus advantage in using 3D models is getting a better sense of space) and eyeballed that image as a reference for the girls themselves. The background was just basic single-point perspective and thinking about how ruined stone structures work. Bits of rubble here, grass growing between cracks there, etc.

Honestly, the best advice I can give for character posing is to study and pay attention to how people balance themselves and where they rest their weight.
One of the best ways to do it is to try and put yourself in the pose as best you can. Pay attention to where you feel yourself putting most of your weight. How difficult is the pose to maintain? Is it too painful to keep up for as long as what's going on in the image would allow? How hard is it to keep your balance? Are your feet at some awkward angle? Where is your center of gravity, and how easy is it to knock yourself over? Your brain figures this stuff out automatically (for the most part), you just need to learn to pay attention to it yourself.
Even a character who's in free-fall or zero gravity still has to try and maintain balance.

For proportions, I find it's best to keep some "rules of thumb" in mind. Really, they're mostly just little factoids about the human body you can research, verify yourself, or discover on your own.
Things like:
*An average sized human is approx. 8 of it's own heads tall (see image, pulled from Wiki)
*A larger head-to-body ratio will make the character appear younger, or more cartoony/exagerated (again, see image)
*Male bodies/shoulders tend to be twice their head-width, whereas females tend to only be 1.5 head widths.
*Your foot is about as long as your forearm (from elbow to wrist)
*Your hand is about the same size as your face (as per the old school-yard prank)
*From your hip to your knee is about the same length as from your hip to your shoulders (think about someone in a fetal position or curling up their legs against their body).
And other things like that for general proportions. For getting the way the body moves and twists right, I highly recommend researching muscle and skeleton structure. Knowing how the body keeps itself together helps in makes sure your characters do the same.
Of course, exceptions can always be made. How you play with proportions changes the kind of "look" you get. Personally, I prefer a slightly younger and cartoony look, so I draw a lot of characters only about 6-heads tall, maybe 5.5 for an actual young character. That's just personal preference.

That's going come down to just practicing trying to draw those body types. Maybe research how a skinny or fat person is specifically different from a "normal" person, and adapt that to how you draw.

Hey everyone!! So I RPG Maker VX Ace BINGED for the last 24 hours and made a game with a bunch of everyones fav characters in it! It's pretty dumb and quick but I hope you can find some enjoyment out of it. The problem is that I don't remember which songs and files I used in my game specifically and having the fun of mix matching all my files and testing it over and over again to make sure it works is a lot more of a bother then one 100mb rtp file download. Unless we have a 56k modem user on /aco/ I probably won't bother.
Unless there's an easier way? If so I'd like to know so I can.
Also sorry I figured it out why the game was hanging there, there was an empty laser tileset in there for some reason. I have no clue how it got there since I was just showing it to m_m to get him to test it for me and it was running fine up until now. I fixed it just now though double checked to make sure.

In Area 2 where Santa and Delta are, once you recruit Ico to your party and pull the lever to light up the small dark room with sinks in area 2, if you go back to area 1, the starting area, and back to area 2 again, the small room with the sinks goes back being dark again

Back in the day I used to extract the file into the folder every time I made something with that file or selected a song, but since i used a ton of custom files It was not too dificult to only include the absolutely necessary.
On semi unrelated stuff, I just had a horrible scare! I checked your game and the character was stuck walking up and pressing random buttons, I then checked in RPG Maker XP and it was the same, I was panicking until I realized it was because I had an USB joypad plugged in and it was face down so the stick and some buttons were pressed.
I feared it was some horrible bug that would not let me do RPG maker stuff ever again!

So I only had time to whip up a very shitty proof of concept test.
I... Ahem! "Acquired" a copy of RPG Maker XP again and tried to dug up my old custom scripts and thingies, sadly I lost easily 80% of them forever, so I can only do very VERY basic stuff.
Anyway here is a quick test using Amelia (because why not?) with a sprite that looks nothing like her at all! Also I throw in a free bug, the inventory screen shows stats in a huge font size, maybe is an script conflicting with it or something, is an easy fix, if I can manage to remember how to edit RGSS scripts that is...
But anyway, I am so rusty in terms of RPG maker and my free time is not as much to do something to a decent standard, but I have SUCH A CRAVING to do a game!
