There's a bug of some sort where if you read the disclaimer and then return to the loading screen it can do that. Try clicking on "new game" again, or just rebooting. It should immediately move to a new screen before anything else happens.

This game had potential, but it's barely even a game. There are no choices to be made. You just have to go from one event to the next. You can't even choose what outfit you want Sarah to wear. I suggest playing Lily of the Valley instead.

He's somewhere in between. Most of the RPG maker shekel masters have no idea what they're doing (going with the vanilla RPGmaker menu, which has the turn based stats, gear and items still in it). This guy edited those out and added some nice HUD elements. But his storytelling is utter shit, and so is his 3D model.

Also I'm gonna follow up with something here: Visual Novels are so much fucking easier than RPG's so far it makes me wanna cry. I don't have a TENTH of the stress I did when working on Overwhored. There's just so much less that I have to balance and test. If the artists do the art, if the writing is done and the very simple system works it's fucking done. Easy. No problemo.
I started with RPG's because RPG Maker made it so I could make a game with 99% of the content done for me. I added hand drawn art paid for out of my own pocket because I wanted something better than most of the BS I saw out there. I couldn't have made a visual novel then, and to be honest that's sad. Visual novels are SO much easier for someone like me. But you have to pull in enough cash to pay the artists. When I started I went for what I could pay for which was... well, I won't shit-talk the awesome dudes that did art for me, but I got what I could afford. I've replaced a lot of that art for a reason even if I love the dudes that made it.
I'm learning a lot of things as well; namely that long VN's are going to be fairly similar in price to make as short VN's like I'm doing now. A few more backgrounds, a few more full sex scenes - but you'll end up using the "core" backgrounds a lot and the character CG gets used and reused. I wasn't sure before starting this whether or not the horror girl dating sim would be totally doable. After just getting this far I can tell you HELL YES.
I'm still going to do the expansion for Overwhored right after this VN, but I don't know if I'll do any more RPG's after Overwhored II. They're a fuckload of work and using RPG maker comes with a stigma that VN's don't have. Well, it doesn't for Germans (hence me having so many German fans like yourself) but everywhere else it does. We'll see I guess.
