I'm really not trying to be condescending here but it's important to remember that Tracer isn't a real person with agency to respect or anything. The overwatch characters are extremely simple and that was intentional. They're merely symbols, aesthetic archetypes. Widowmaker is sexy because her entire concept is a sexy femme fatale while Tracer is more akin to a spunky girl scout.
The problem with Tracer's pose is that it doesn't show off her character very well. It's identical to Widowmaker and the characters have nothing in common besides being girls with asses. I can understand a creative change from that direction. Where Blizzard fucked up is implying that the change was at least partially made to be PC which in this gaming climate was destined to blow up and cause a shitstorm.

Batman, Superman, and James Bond aren't sexualized. They're meant to be male fantasies. Men are supposed to picture themselves as batman or james bond, which is actually fine. It's normal to want to relate to a character. The problem comes when a female character is made simply as a sex object, and nothing more. Once developers introduce sexualized poses in games, the female characters start to simply become sex objects, which is NOT what the developers wanted for Tracer. That's why they took out the pose.

If you had to isolate what was seemingly the most problematic part of the pose I'm sure you'd say it's her butt (if you'll excuse the assumption) which is a result of her wearing tights. That's a model issue, not a pose issue. Wearing tights makes sense for a goesfast character, and the bright, eye-catching color matches her personality.

Being sexualized and being powerful are not mutually exclusive. They can be either/or to two different people or even both at once to the same person. Being sexy often comes right along with being powerful. The same logic that lends itself to power fantasies also pertains to the desire to play attractive characters that confidently own and flaunt their sexuality.
Demarcating the two concepts as if they aren't tied in many instances is just eschewing half the picture in context to support a biased agenda that splits fandoms apart on gender lines. Tracer's personality was already established. She's a fan favorite for it. Arguing that one suggestive pose represents a danger of her being reduced to nothing but a sex object is ironically reinforcing the Madonna-Whore complex that feminism claims to want to dismantle. To them Widwomaker ends up the designated eye candy, so she gets to be sexy and that's all her personality will ever be while Tracer is the woman with agency, so she doesn't get to be sexy lest she become a slut and nothing but a sex object. The original complaint about the pose was more regressive than anything that came after it.
Though in the end the contention was always about the way Jeff handled the criticism by seemingly bending over for one person's complaints while ignoring countless others with contrary opinions. And as it turned out, the pose was only enhanced, taking on the exact look of a '50s pinup model.
Lastly, labeling anti-SJWs pushing back against rampant SJWs as the true offended is like criticizing someone being violent with an armed home invader.
