He's half the writing team, I'll also be writing on it. But yeah. It initially started as a "personal" project because Overwhored was designed to be vanilla and didn't hit all my kinks. I wanted more in-depth mind control and incest.
After working on it a bit I realized it'd make a good VN and decided I'd make a proper project out of it. With Patreon that became viable.

I just played some of Broken Heart Bordello (Remastered 3.0) and damn, that was bad.
The writing is atrocious, which wouldn't have been such a big problem if the player hadn't been bombarded with dialogue all the time. You spend most time clicking through long dialogue meant to showcase how absolutely badass the player character is. I get the feeling the writer wrote this character - simply named "Master" - as self-insert fanfiction to some franchise, and then simply used the same character for his own game.
It's pretty much a poor version of Princess Trainer, with none of Akabur's humor. I tried a sex scene and it was all text. Grinded and click-spammed through torrents of bad dialogue until I couldn't stand it anymore. Skipped to Chapter 3 and spammed through some more awful dialogue until I got a titfuck scene, which had actual pictures and was pretty nice. So it's not entirely terrible, but not enough for me to ever play this again.
Akabur's art is good, but it's not worth the time to play the game to see it. Especially not with Princess Trainer Gold and Injustice Unlimited around the corner.

Anyway, guys, I'm not doing a VN here or just a simple pron game. The game will have dungeons and randomized items to loot. I wrote the engine from the ground up and everything so far have not been an easy task, not to mention bugs take hours to days to fix.

A protip to ANYONE playing through Opala games: get fucking Cheat Engine and set its speedhack to 3x or higher.
The barebones RPGMaker gameplay is atrocious. The original first game also has RETARDEDLY large maps with no sprint option.
Overall, Opalas have had decent writing and are/were relatively well-crafted, RPGMaker-games-wise. I've had plenty of much worse games of this sort from the Japanese department (although they didn't take entire years to finish)
H-content is a hit and miss. Gabe's fetishes are awful - the whole Sparrow physics + horsecock nonsense gets tiresome, for all the polls conducted on the blog, one could be dedicated to the kind of artwork people would like to see most - ALTHOUGH that might backfire horribly considering furshit is like at least half the "fanbase", with the developer having a long history of fursonas.

They can be good or bad like any other games medium.
The porn to grind ratio should be very high or grind or even combat removed altogether, steps should be taken to make it easier to play one handed, porn should not be drip fed or too hard to find, sexual themes should effect regular gameplay as much as possible, a reactive and changing game world is a strength.

Seconded. Would love to play a game where you can fuck your victims. CoC and TiTS sort of do it, but harder I guess, and not always through combat. Capturing, blackmailing, etc. I mean, there's plenty of games where you get scenes like that if you lose, but I love games where you're on the giving end. Bonus points for playing a male character.

I also enjoy the Opala games, but I really wish the rewards were more connected to the gameplay. Grinding to get an in-game painting is not as good as grinding to get an in-game sex scene. Point is, I wish all that art was used to make less collectible cards and more "real" sex scenes.
