Don't forget that cartoons exaggerate body types. Chel looks curvy on the big screen, but in real life a girl with those exact proportions would look weird.
And Squirrel Girl, in the most recent comic book, was specifically turned into a ham beast with barely any breasts and a face that makes Quasimodo look like Mr Universe.
