I wish. They'd all be wonderful editions. I just don't really understand Lab Zero's mentality. A DLC pack or outright expansion would have been so much cheaper and down to earth than a million dollar indiegogo campaign of some super niche game. It would have made their financial situation a little less precarious too. Maybe they wont do it because DLC would fall under that god awful contract they did for Skullgirls that saw them ending up broke. If so that's pretty shitty and makes me hate this industry even more.
It just seems kinda jacked up that we'll never get any skullgirls content for the forseeable next 2 years at least.

Well, the fandom was willing to support them for the first Indiegogo campaign; without them, we wouldn't have, Eliza, Big Band, Squigly or Beowulf.
A good idea for them may be to take the profits from release of Indivisible (knowing the dedicated fans, I guess that Indivisible will sell pretty well). Then they could use those profits to develop the highest requested characters: Umbrella, Black Daliah, Venus Lovelace, ect.
That way, they satisfy the Skullgirls fans by bringing them new fighters (along with canon endings via Umbrella and Marie) whilst not having to compromise the making of Indivisible.

I'm pretty confident like 80% of Indivisible's funding was because people wanted more Skullgirl content and Indivisible was Lab Zero's way of holding Skullgirls hostage with that 'if we don't succeed with this indiegogo campaign our company will break up' stuff. They know they have an established fandom, and basically scoffed them off to make some weird project in a completely different genre that was niche as hell.
Irks the heck out of me, really. I love Lab Zero's work but sometimes it feels like they just want to move away from Skullgirls and to never touch it again. Doesn't help with all the rumors of SJW capitulation in regards to how they handle female characters and junk in recent times. I just don't really understand their train of thought. Indivisible is okay and all, but why the complete departure? Why release a game with a bunch of free DLC but no actual pay-for DLC or expansions to follow up and keep popularity and multiplayer going, then complain about low funds?

They want to make more games but skullgirls was a development nightmare and for once they'd like to at least break even. They mentioned their deal allows actual ownership of the Indivisible IP which is not a luxury they have with skullgirls where they settled for a shit deal just to get their first game out.
I don't think its unreasonable they want to move away from skullgirls right now, and they clearly do. They wrapped it up and rather than try to cash in on it more they took a fuckhuge risk by making indivisble and asking for as much as they did, shit wouldn't have made it had indiegogo not played nice, but you bet your ass an SG2 would've been funded the first week.
I think its extremely silly to pretend they somehow meant to cash in on the SG fandom with Indivisible, if that was their goal they would've made SG2. They've only made one game so L0 fandom is the SG fandom but there's plenty of SG fans who didn't back it.
I think we should be commending them for trying their best to not only stay afloat but also take risks in this industry and not become a one trick pony, I'm sorry you have a problem with them not being exclusively "the skullgirls people" and slaves to its fandom anymore.

This pretty much confirms what i was feeling, you want more skullgirls and ain't getting it so you'll use shit excuses and even shittier logic to justify your petty anger at Lab Zero when all their doing is keeping their artistic integrity, doing what they want and respecting themselves and their own works.
Its a fucking miracle skullgirls even managed to come out as it did and get the attention it got, that just goes to show how much L0 cared about their work as supposed to just making a quick buck. They've been stuck in the hole that is skullgirl's development for years now and have to dig themselves out of it. The only thing they're doing different with Indivisible is trying to at least get a decent pay for it, but their sights are still set on making a game they want and putting care into it more than the money, which is why they didn't go for Skullgirls 2.
This move should set the record straight for who L0 are and where they want to go, like it or not they want to be a diverse developer that takes risk and pours their all into each title they make. I'll guarantee you the first thing they'll do after Indivisble is finished is NOT go for Skullgirls 2 nor Indivisible 2, but just something entirely new again.
When and IF they ever do come back to skullgirls, it'll be when the time is right and I fucking guarantee it'll not only be 10 times better than the original, it'll be 100 times better than it would've been had it been released right after the first one.
Lab Zero is exhausted of Skullgirls, heck, the public is exhausted of Skullgirls, it needs a break. The only threat to Skullgirls was actually continuing right away, it would get some mild interest upon announcement but would quickly go down again, it'd just be more of the same everyone's been getting for 3 years now. Hardly anyone kept up with skullgirls cause it took fucking forever to finish and extending that longer wouldn't help any.

Pretty sound logic, anon. Only reason Indivisible even got funded was because people wanted another skullgirls and Lab Zero basically held a gun to it's head by claiming they'd go defunct if their pet project no one asked for didn't get funded. And even then it barely limped across the finish line because it's just not very interesting. I can't play it with friends. I can't play it with anyone. It's got neat art, but that's it. It's just so 'meh' it hurts.

To add to that, I can respect wanting to take risks, but at least take smart ones. Indivisble is an incredibly dumb risk. It's not appealing to any particular group in western audiences(Who barely like RPGs to begin with), it doesn't appeal to their established core of consumers by being entirely different from what the company is known for doing, and it just doesn't really do anything new or fill in a niche with any kind of real demand. Even my friends that play RPG's were extremely 'meh' about it after playing the 'demo'. It's kinda fun I 'guess', but it's not something I'm spending 40 bucks on.
