Do you like masculine adventure with the flavor of white-hot steel?
"The Gorilla Women of Third Reich"

Classic stuff, right up there with the likes of Rick Griffin, Victor Moscoso, Gilbert Shelton, and even our own lovable, cuddly Robert Crumb.

You forgot to mention Spain Rodreguez
In 1971 I was fortunate enough to be invited by a friend to go over to Robert Williams house to do some comix trading. I had to miss an exam in a class at L.A.C.C. to accept, but I just couldn't miss out. We arrived to find S. Clay Wilson there also. They were both very nice to this awe struck fan, a pair of real gentlemen. The visit cost me an ace in that class, but was worth it.

Can anyone post the "Mentor In A Mason Jar" story?
For me this is what /aco/ is made for. It's been FUCKING weeks of waiting. So much great underground stuff that needs to be storytimed here. Crumb, Williams, Spain, Freak Brothers, ect ect ect this is the place for them. I understand the appeal of the fetish stuff but this is why im here.

A Zap thread is called for. I have few things to kick it off. I still have a number of originals that I purchased at the Free Press Bookstore in L.A. Got 'em as they were issued. Being that I was not 18, the store could have been busted for selling porno to a minor - very serious.
Haha what the fuck am I reading

Mr. Williams wants you to work on that question.

BTW: Cootie was a board game, popular in the 1950's. When I was a kid we had the game, but I don't remember ever playing it. We just messed around with the bugs.

Had the pleasure of reading both of his Fantagraphics books

There's no doubt he's firmly wired into the pop culture of the 50's and 60's, especially L.A. and So. Cal. You oughta check out his web site, it has a nice gallery. www.robtwilliamsstudio.com
