To access the source code, you'll need to extract the script files from the archive game/scripts.rpa
RPAextractor is a good way to do it if you're using a windows OS.
After that, you'll just have to modify the line I indicated in my previous post and move the archive (scripts.rpa) out of the folder game, or ren'py will find multiple iterations of some labels and the game will crash.
To answer your question, you need to replace {} by 0 but also to call the function len() on the first part of the inequality.
