Also, it's implied in one of the Simaris synthesis imprints that the Orokin may have created the Sentient as a kind of interstellar bridgelayer.
What I've pieced together (with some headcanon elements) so far is:
>Orokin = post-human species of weebs who reached near-godlike capabilities and tinkered with reality itself
>Prime Warframes are recovered and pieced-together fragments of the original Warframe series developed by the Orokin, which were single, unique beings, most of whom died
>regular Warframes are mass-production versions of the Primes, reverse-engineered by someone, likely the Sentient, and turned against the Orokin
Lotus/Natah was supposed to eradicate the Tenno after the fall of the Orokin, to allow the Sentient uncontested dominance. But she came to view them as children (interstellar travel sterilizes the Sentient) and instead preserved them in stasis. Which is a problem, because in theory the Tenno could stand against the Sentient, who themselves are in cryo-stasis in the outer solar system and intend to wake up and take over.

Isn't it also implied in the Stalker's story that the Tenno were responsible for the fall of the Orokin empire? Perhaps resenting their death sentence, and guided by the Lotus, they slaughtered the "Golden Kings" as the Stalker says? Or is that yet unknown?

We don't have much the full details or chronology. What we do know is that at some point:
>Tenno murdered a lot of Orokin during a celebration that was held - presumably - to mark the end of a war. "Emperors" were among their victims.
>Infested / Technocyte got loose in the Orokin Empire. We know that Ancient Healers are the result of pseudo-Trinity Orokin being infected, and that the Grineer made their break for freedom during the chaos.
>The Orokin went to war with the Grineer at some point. More and more Grineer pledged loyalty to the Twin Queens, who eventually betrayed the Orokin.
We don't know either the chronology or which of these events broke the Orokin Empire's back. We know that at some point the Lotus lead the Tenno against the Sentients (Mirage's quest), but whether that was during or after her time as a double agent is unknown (since we don't know if it is from before or after her matricide).

Makes me wonder if they'll ever fuck with their own standards and make Mirage or Chroma prime frames. Either the ones actually suggested in the quests are the prime frames, and the parts we get are, like for the rest of the Warframes, just mass-produced knockoffs, or the ones we see are the originals, and thus no prime should exist.
This whole discussion does at least lend itself to the idea of the modern Tenno just being operators, and the warframes themselves being functionally empty... at least the "originals" were characters.
Makes me wonder if they'll ever allude more to the "original" Excalibur.

Another theory that a lot of people have - based off the Chroma quest - is that the Sentients basically pretended to be dead, waited for the inevitable celebration and ceremonies… then seized control of the Warframes to murder all the Orokin leaders so readily exposed.
A third theory is that the Orokin were pricks and it was a matter of when not if one of their factions would bite the hand that beat them.

The /vg/ general is more dedicated to whinging about how the game's ruined forever. The /d/ threads were starting to slip into the same pattern after the porn deluge died down into a smut trickle.
There's also that this is a new board with different regulars. /vg/ and /d/ had Warframe threads often enough for most people to know what's what. With people from /co/, /tg/, /h/, and other boards coming here there's going to be more questions by those unfamiliar with the game / setting.

Mostly with Ember since she was originally going to be a male frame before being redesigned as a female. Other frames like Mag and Ash were also going to be the opposite gender at first, but that was just at the conceptual stage, where as male Ember was almost done before being scrapped. So she got associated with that much like Saryn gets associated with farts.
Futa is also just a pretty popular fetish.

I hadn't heard about Mag, but I remember the other two. I also remember Excalibur originally having male and female versions before they scrapped the "Frames for both sexes" idea and changed the model some to make Nyx. Equinox has a "masculine", "feminine", and "neutral" set of forms, and while DE's said she's either a cross dressing or gender fluid female the announcement came weeks after her reveal so "Male - Female - Futa" had already dug-in with the porn forges.
Half the time I hear about Valkyr being a Futa the excuse revolves around it being a result of Corpus experiments on her body. There's no in-game evidence, but since sexy experimentation is sexier than "iron rods shoved through bones" and "partial flaying" experimentation it's understandable. Mesa was first found as an Infested Warframe, and is farmed from the same person who did experiments on Valkyr, so that's two excuses right there.
