Just finished this shit, good feels all round.
Although the characters did seem to act like fucking sociopaths a lot of the time, like maybe if you guys sat down and TALKED THIS SHIT OUT, alot of the crazy feels moments wouldnt have happened.

I know /a/ is all in on the "Ueno did nothing wrong" meme, but fucking hell why didn't they push Ueno's shit in at least once during the whole thing.

Fucking hell she is, she did nothing helpful ever and was never nice to anyone and beat the deaf chick's ass raw for no reason and chased all of Ishida's actual friends away when he was all fucked up in the hospital. You don't just leave her be and say "I guess she was our friend all along" at the end. Fuck.
I liked the elementary school part.
Ueno ruined the high school part.

The whole thing was great for me until the end. It kind of felt like the author was forced to make an ending that they didn't want, or that they simply had no end vision during their creation process. It was just poorly constructed and didn't give me much closure or satisfaction.

This so much. Outside of the first ~20 chapters after the oneshot things just get retarded. For a manga that seemed to present the reality of being deaf, the characters just seemed to be one-dimensional and none of their actions seemed realistic. Koe no Katachi is the mangaka's first professional work and it's could be that she had to extend the length of the manga due to it's popularity.

A lot of anons can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact that it takes an extreme amount of resolve to be the first to say "let's talk this out" or to confront someone and ask them about a possible misunderstanding you may have.
It's the most common argument I see being thrown out against why they don't like melodrama.

Anyway if Shoko had bitch-slapped Ueno when the MC was in the hospital it would have been great in terms of character development. It was kind of stupid to have her remain a 100% nice innocent girl, but overall I liked the ending.
