I already favorite to much stuff and try to keep it down as much as I can so I don't fill it just average-tier stuff, but I never worry about it since you'll just find new stuff, or go back on old stuff and find it again, it's not like it's gone forever
but having a backlog, most of this stuff is just 15 pages, you have a backlog for anime because you know if you watch it you'll remember it, if your not going to bother favoriting something, it's almost pointless. yay you managed to read it and clear it from your backlog, are you going to fucking remember it? are you going to remember a single, non-favorite worthy book among the hundreds you read every month? not fucking likely
I mean yeah there's the stuff you do I actually liked and lose track of, and you can go crazy looking for it again when you don't have anything to go on, but it's a rare enough occurance for me that I just let it go, If I find it again I find it, if not I keep looking, odds are you come across it again eventually, I can't fucking favorite everything I read

I add stuff to my backlog when I'm not fapping that I might find good, and read it later when I'm in the mood to fap. If it's good I download and filter to my favorites.
It's not a hard concept and I have no idea why you wouldn't favorite stuff you may find interesting.
