Steampunk setting where the Confederate States win, then they decide to skip diplomacy and conquer Japan. Glorious Nippon's forces are outmatched due to the Americans' superior steampuk machines until an entire village is sacrificed to awaken a powerful oni and use it as the basis for a nigh-invincible armor suit, then a girl is forced by circumstance to wear it, since the demon is bonded to her she's the only one that can operate it and they have to learn to work together to defeat the invaders and maybe eventually other demons.

A war between Machine and Magic has left the world beyond damaged and the world shattered with 100 different Kings ruling each part of the fractured world, and only the strongest get to live peaceful lives.
A young scavenger in this post-apocalypse who loves to study magitek discovers an old suit worn by the previous Hero of the war between Machine and Magic War, and it bonds with her containing the soul of its previous wearer who takes her at hostage point threatening to kill her if she doesn't get back what was stolen from them from the 1st Rank King.
The Girl must now travel the land and enter into a battle Royale against all 100 Kings and their henchmens using magitek to retrieve what was stolen from the previous Hero. Along the way she sparks several revolution groups to rise up against the authority of the Kings.
