Has an anime ever made you cry?

Pic unrelated, just to set the mood I guess
>>
Non non biyori

When the girl suddenly left and Renge was left to herself i cried like a little bitch because i was reminded of my childhood. I would live with my aunt in the countryside during holidays. There was close to no one my age so i spent the days walking around like a fucking simpleton. Then i had met some girl 2 years older than me who was in the same predicament. So we would meet everyday under the same tree which provided a bit of shade which was also the place we first met. We would talk from noon till sunset about literally anything. I found out where she lived and it was quite far from my aunt's barn, about 2 hours of walking. One day she stopped coming, i thought maybe she was held up or something so i waited under that tree like an autistic cunt. For about a week i just sat under that tree staring at the clouds. Then i decided to go to where she lived to find out what happened. Turns out she died from pneumonia. I didn't even fucking learn her name since i just ran all the way back to my aunt's barn in tears. FUCKING WEW LAD. Still see her when i close my eys.

It's because they're not sad, they're tryhard, and have unrealistic moeblob characters. You need characters with some humanity if you're going to cry for them, and eroge game girls don't provide anything but cheap emotional grabs that aren't deep enough to undermine the waifushit.

>>
>>139329757
I usually cry at the end if I liked the characters because I'm a lonely faggot

I find that I'm more likely to cry if the show is really long or there has been a delay of some kind ( like in Wolf's Rain or Madoka, I didn't even like the characters that much but I had to wait so long for 2 fucking episodes), I guess because it takes more time to part even if I don't actively spend more time with them, and of course by extension less likely if I marathon it

It rarely has anything to do with how sad the actual show is, I cry on pure comedies etc., if it's about a sad scene then it's usually a character leaving/dying prematurely
The only place where I cried because the scenes were sad and nobody was dying was Umineko, mostly the whole Eva+Ange arc in EP4
I also sometimes cry seemingly randomly, like for the first few eps of CCS I would cry every time Sakura captured a card for some reason

Looking back it does make some sense, the cards spent so much time alone and finally got to be friends with someone, but I didn't think about them being semi-sentient at the time, I just saw a kid catching magical pieces of paper and somehow figured it's a very profound emotional moment I need to shed my tears for
Man it was embarrassing, thanks god I always watch things alone

This, especially 5 centimeters per second (one more time, one more chance) and garden of words (the staircase scene).

Also, Texhnolyze, Shen and her cat, End Of Evangelion and probably there are more, but these are the most memorable ones.

I have always liked tragedies, especially in the theme of unrequited love. I like to cry when I watch something and I don't why. I've always been like this.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catharsis

Catharsis literally means "cleansing", it makers perfect sense to feel better after watching something sad or emotional. The idea is that you get your feelings out of your system (with the help of a work of art) and can move on afterwards.

Amane's:
>people go crazy after being stuck in an isolated location with not enough food. Years later a father of one of the victims hunts down the sole survivor out of misguided revenge
Could happen in real life, probably not quite as dramatically as it would be as a STORY though

Mitcher:
>girl has two separate CONSCIOUSNESSES (not personalities) from a fucking heart transplant who take turns with the body. Later the original personality feels depressed and wants to dissapear so yuuji fakes her death for her all her friends and BURIES HER ALIVE after drugging her up. Immedietly after she outs she and yuuji fuck like in the shower down the hall from her grieving friends and the result is that the two consciousness inhabit the same body AT THE SAME TIME and even have conversations with each other using the same mouth. Yuuji's reaction: "oh what a handful lol"

Do you realize how retarded you sound now?

It's interesting how drastically the order you watch/read Fate changes your experience. I watched DEEN, DEEN UBW, Zero, then ufotable UBW. Illya was basically a mid-boss in both deen series, and her death in the movie basically felt like the secret end boss had just shown up in the mid-boss's stage. It was definitely an impactful moment, and the ost definitely gave it a lot of force (kawai kenji's ost is the definitive fate ost https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXv1laKjJv4), but while it was sad it wasn't really tear jerking. [Embed] Ufotable's death scene just felt way too long, especially how most people knew it was coming, but the Illya scenes in Zero damn near ruined me.

I think one of the things that makes that stand out so much was you weren't quite sure what was happening in the lead up. You figure there's some kind of keikaku involved, but then it all falls into place, and the thing happens. It was a hell of a one-two punch. Although he's totally still alive.
