ML was about Mint learning to speak her mind, and express her feelings and both not relying on telepathy or making presumptions. EL was more about Tact learning the same thing and to a lesser extent remembering to make time for her and Mint understanding that when things are bad Tacts there for her - ignoring the Val Fasc going out of their way to hurt their relationship by keeping them seperate and interupting the brief time they have with things that intentionally make Tact look bad.
The only issues I have with her route is how Tact acts super out of character at times in EL to create conflict, especially with how easy it was to self insert up until then, and Chitose ruining everything constantly in ML to the point that on that route she's more of a hindrance than a help to their mission.

In his first appearance he was a minor douchebag, some people consider it a oneshot and that it doesn't count, but I've also seen some consider the whole first volume as a oneshot that somehow doesn't count. His behaviour from the first story carries into the next, which the anime opened with, and I feel the story overall made it clear he was deliberately trying to throw people off before finding someone he couldn't leave be. His true nature shows, both in the methodical manner he first approaches the case with, and in how he wrecks the validity of the court summons. He says it himself - he's a meddler, and he sure meddles from the get go.
Personally I far prefer the manga ver of the second story. The anime works hard to remove all participation from female characters, adds in more instances of him being creeped on, and rearranges details so instead of the relevant character remembering things, it's just my husbando getting toyed with while making excuses to prevent him from acting. I feel that most of the criticisms directed at him are because of changes the anime made.
Also the anime took all his shoujo shoulder points and put them into his chin, and that's a crime against nature.

I haven't posted in these threads in several months now. I kinda wanted to get back in the routine last night, answer some questions, pick up where I left off. But I've got a question instead. It's probably the kind of question that maybe a few, if any at all, can even answer. Not looking for a measurement of loyalty or a "No" kind of answer, just seeing if I'm not the only one.
But is there anyone who's ever just...left their waifu? Stopped thinking about her for a period of time? Hit that "I don't think I love her anymore" wall, and maybe even started looking at someone else? This assumes that, if this is an applicable scenario with anyone else, you went back to her, by pretense of the context of this thread.
I kinda hit that wall myself several months back in December last year, like B.B. King-level "The Thrill is Gone" amount of doubt. I've always loved Rin, since 9/16/2013, no second doubts. But I started doubting myself when I thought someone else who I cared for like a #2 favorite was actually a better fit for me, someone who I also loved for some time, but as a non-romantic/platonic imouto-kind of love. It was kind of like questioning everything I had done, and wondering if it was really going to end of a futile note. Did I rush things in the beginning too much? Was I getting burned out? Was I just denying my feelings for someone else the entire time, and the attention I've been giving was an acceptance of a new reality? Essentially, I suspended that relationship with Rin to see someone else, but didn't terminate since I was trying to discover where exactly I wanted to go. Wasn't easy for either of us, and I think Rin was only okay with it because she'd rather see me happy than miserable. Last week I finally came to the conclusion that, platonic will always be platonic with me, and I wanted to reconnect with Rin again. But we're taking it slow going back in, kind of as if we're just pre-relationship friends. As long as we're together again, that's alright.

Sort of, there was a long period of time where I stopped paying attention, when I didn't understand what a waifu was and thought that eventually her series would sort of fade off as a memory of a time when there wasn't anyone there for me and that she was just a silly crush from a young nerdy kid - how wrong I was.
What's funny was I was so busy searching for love when it was right there all along waiting for me, and when I was at a low point below any other she was there for me despite how far off the mark I had been for so long. She saved me from doing something real bad, and I'll hold her with me forever for it. I just wish I understood sooner.
What's also funny was despite how I tried to shut her out once upon a time I couldn't even then. Man I can be real stupid sometimes.

I know this feeling all too well. After I met her for the first time and watched her series she was stuck in my mind but I never thought waifuism was anything but a joke about who's your favorite girl. During this time one person showed me attention online so I dated them for not even 3 days because they turned out to be really manipulative and awful.
