It feels like it's been a very long time since ive last watched a very satisfying show.
It's still shit OP. It only gets good after Shun goes full Karma Demon

The first three episodes are slow and way too generic/basic for the lack of a better word.
The atmosphere is unmatched.
The story, in the anime, is rushed quite a bit, and yet, while not being extremely unique, it's not something that you see/read everyday, far from it. But you can't help but feel nostalgic by watching it, even though it's your first time.
I really liked it. Easily in my top 20, and i don't see it dropping anytime soon. It's been 3 years already now that i think about it.
What did you not like about the show?

Hell it even had some legit scary/horror parts in it. That door scene for example.

Looks more like Shinsekai YURI to me.
What's up with that leg/skirt physics? That doesn't seem right.
Cantus is scary as shit

I agree with you.
It's also really good to me since it reminded me a lot of old Le Guin novels in terms of themes. 10/10 to me but it requires someone who can read between the lines.
Have you been watching Grimgar? It's pretty satisfying.

Are there any other shows that have aggressive time progression like this and Mnemosyne?

That show was very bad, but that first ED was so damn great!

More like Shitsekai Adolescence.

With time progression? Clannad AS is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

Kemono no souja Erin has time skips
