Since we left off on talking about Iroha's role in the harem I'll start off with that.

Since Hachiman never explicitly states his feelings (which is the most frustrating part of the series), we'll never know until the last book, so it's all up to interpretation whether his monologues about the girls is reflective of what he feels towards them or not. At the very least, it's pretty obvious there's something there for Yukino considering the amount of internal conflict he had regarding himself and her. The contrast between volume 5 and volume 10 should speak for itself.
I agree for the most part, but I'll argue that he is more attracted to Yukino on the basis that her descriptions are always using more flowery language. The fact that the narrative is from his perspective makes it clear his eyes are drawn to her more often than not.
Though it can also be said that he is, at the very least, attractive appearance wise to Iroha as well. Since she also tends to get more descriptive narration in regards to her appearance.
Whether or not it's actual affection remains to be seen. But at the very least he is extremely fond of them. He enjoys the banter between him and Yukino in, at minimum, a friendly manner. And he feels responsible for taking care of Iroha because of the election mess, and his Komachi-skills.

Though volume 7.5 is chronologically before volume 7, so that should also be fine for you to read without spoilers. I don't agree in general, but I agree when viewed from a case-by-case basis. What's important is the execution and how it relates to the story, not the presence or absence of abuse that should matter. To put into perspective: in pure comedy-based genre series, slapstick violence is usually the norm. In serious drama, the character development defines how you can judge the abuse. Then you have the in-between comedy and drama is a mix of both perspectives.
