Are you dumb? The swords all represent something different and different ways to improve upon a sword.
They're all deviant swords, they deviate from what a normal sword is.
One is harder, one is sharper, one is lighter, one is heavier, one is an armor, one is many swords and eventually you had the wooden sword which focused on calming down its user, then you have the guns which aren't swords at all and eventually you have a human that surpasses all the swords as the ultimate sword.
Some of the swords are simply more philosophical than they are useful weapons. Thus 'deviant' blades.

I'll never get how someone has a problem with that idea.
It's the idea that a sword which can be used defensively, could be pushed to its defensive limits. And then you realise that the best way to provide defense is to just wear armour, thus a sword that is armor.
Same way the guns are a sword. It's an aspect of a sword pushed to its limit so much so that it's hardly a sword anymore, it deviates from what a sword is.
The heavy sword that Konnayuki had was basically a greatclub, but you don't seem upset about that.
