OP if you call something "the best Ghibli film" then it'll spark a fucking shitstorm. a lot of people here have a favorite Ghibli film and there are many different Ghibli films which means this thread will be a war of blood and gore and guts and bones and shit flinging.
this might be MY favorite Ghibli film though, but I'm not sure. It's definitely very good and I loved it, but I loved Gauche the Cellist and Chie the Brat more.
Horus/Hols/whatever is hugely flawed though, I guess worth a 6/10. Really great fight scenes but the character animation didn't stand out to me and the plot was a mess.

I love Only Yesterday. I watched it rather late and I think I appreciated it even more because of that, because I could relate a lot to the main character being in their mid 20s and reminiscing their childhood. Great film.

Only Yesterday is pretty much the best. It's not held down by cliches or childishness like a lot of Ghibli's work. It displays more humanity than any other Ghibli film, especially Miyazaki's, who struggles with human psychology. I'll definitely buy it once it's released over here.
