Note the "!?" right there in the title.
Absolutely nothing on that interview implies that Lelouch stayed dead. Only that he died and that they had no intention of continuing his story (Among other things, because Code Geass had ended and they wanted to move on).
It's entirely possible to say everything he did say in that interview and still allow Lelouch to survive as an immortal who hides in obscurity. There is no contradiction or denial.

Nevertheless, he worked with Taniguchi is creating the original story. In addition, it makes no sense to create some convoluted explanation on how lelouch is somehow immortal, then never say anything about it- even mention that he was killed- then just never say anything about how he was alive.

If Suzaku, involved in the Zero Requiem, stabbed Lelouch all as part of some grand keikaku, why were tears in his eyes? Did he lose all of his past characterization and decide "lol fuk it i'm not telling suzaku"?
The ending is the only redeeming factor about r2. Using some fanboy theory in which Lelouch lives, when the whole point of the end was him essentially atoning for what he has done, ruins its entire purpose.
