KyoAni are probably the single best anime studio currently when it comes to TV animation.
That being said, pretty much all their shows apart from Haruhi , Lucky Star and Nichijou are really shallow, pandering, SoL, shit.
It's a studio with a huge amount of potential but have found a market niche and refuse to experiment out of it.
Kyoto could be the new Gainax or Trigger or whatever, but it's unwilling to take risks.
