Thinking the same thing as well if ARC-V was indeed to last for only 2 years/100-ish episodes. But if it was to last as that intended length and say that the Synchro arc was as long as Xyz, would it make the character development during that arc suffer? Synchro can't really be skipped altogether as it wouldn't feel right to tackle every dimension but Synchro and that Yuya did develop during his time there.

Ono should be allowed to write up until the tournament at the end of the first major arc, he did well with the Fortune cup and the Maiami championship. he's good at telling variations of that story but has no clue what to do afterwards. Though in 5ds it was Yoshida's fault for the most part, though if Ono had a better plan for the aftermath of Dark Signer I think we'd have seen it, I doubt Yoshida is some sort of prima donna that disregards everyone else's work and does what he wants.

Yes, especially for Sailor Moon? Of course there are older fans and otaku at the fringes, but a lot of Crystal's motivation was to cash in on the nostalgia of young women and older teens who watched the original or read the manga in their childhoods. The audience who watched the exclusive SM Crystal preview before it premiered was a theater full of women who audibly fawned over it.
