His ideology is basically what every preteen dreams, and grows out of it when they realise they cant do everything and arent the centre of the world, and have to actually do something instead of waiting for something to happen like going in a fantasy world or being a special snowflake(realta marble)

I disagree entirely. Shirou's entire character is central to the visual novel and his struggles are often the main draw. UBW and HF especially centre around his decisions and growth because his pursuits are what Nasu has shown to be passionate about writing out. If Shirou wasn't the main character, the story would not be lackluster and forgettable, but it would be starved for deeper meaning and resolution. It would just be 'crazy magi battles' and that's it.

Saber is described as a mother figure for Shirou outside of the Fate Route. Rin is Shirou's friend outside of UBW, and Sakura never expected to get with Shirou in the first place outside of HF.
There is one girl per route where he romances, and that's that.

Oh jeez. Archer doesn't kill Shirou because he wants to mentally break him. He knows first hand that just killing him likely wouldn't change the future, so he wants to vent his frustrations out by making Shirou admit he's wrong about his beliefs.
But Shirou's beliefs aren't wrong. He wants to help people. He knows he can't save everyone, and that he will likely end up killing in his journey to become a hero, but he accepts that weight because he knows it's right.
He's not going to save everyone, but he will do his best with the capabilities he has at hand, and his capabilities are far greater than your average person, and he can bring about some level of change.
By the end of the story, he proves it by beating Gil and saving the city.

The message of the game is that neither side is totally wrong or totally right, it's a path you choose.
You can decide to completely abandon your humanity as a martyr for the people, but you have to acknowledge you are being a martyr and hurting the ones close to you and the ones unfortunate enough to not be a net positive in your plans.
You can choose your loved ones first while also caring about others, but you have to acknowledge that sometimes it's selfish to prioritize the ones close to you over the greater good.
It's a story that shows both the good and the bad of the concept of a "greater good". And where altruism lies in it.
