Best gundam to come out in over a decade.
I kinda lost interest in it despite it being a Gundam show that you ought to be able to watch without having much prior knowledge from older Gundam shows.

Dropped in quality after episode 4. Kudelia is annoying, huge missed opportunity with Mika and Orga's relationship. Expected it to be way more twisted than it ended up being.
Mecha designs were fine, concept of no beam weapons and focus on melee and ballistic was cool, but the execution was horrible past the first few mars fight. All fights past that point were fucking horrible, and animated poorly to boot.
Didn't pick back up until Carla shows up and McGillis starts doing real casval shit. But by that point, it's already the last episode.

I for one was perfectly fine the more political, character focused direction the show took, but a lot of people came into the show with expectations of non-stop action packed mechaporn as is typical of gundam series and were left disappointed with a show that boils down to character drama set against a mecha backdrop instead. Its similar to the diebuster vs gunbuster phenomena, where fans who watched the former first dislike the latter and fans who watched the latter first dislike the former due to their expectations despite both being great

Banal. I had to notice it because Eugene used to be compared to Beecha who I love but IBO fails to reach even the medium low bar that's ZZ despite aiming to specifically be a character drama and intimate with the cast.

A few fights and imho only one really worthy to be remembered (The fight in Episode 7 was only one that I liked for animation, direction and intensity).
I like a lot the Barbatos Gundam, but the season 1 was pretty boring.
Gundam 00 was from 2007 and from an aesthetic level seems to be more modern than Iron Blood.

I wanted to like it but the size of the battles are just so small. Like I was hoping for huge fights between PMCs and then the realization that the reason for so much fighting is because of (((Earth))) and then the resulting solar war.
