Either way, at least DBS gives secondary characters some chance to fight such as the Freeza Force (well done in the movie at least), Piccolo (who was absent in GT) vs Frost, some filler fights...so far.
Also Vegeta will be training Trunks, and Piccolo is training Gohan. Trunks fighting is a given, so we may jump from 2 competent fighters to 3 or 4. In contrast, GT only had one.

Likewise. I guess it's really just my disappointment over the fact that god forms and all that come down to nothing but palette swaps, when they give people the expectation that they're so much more.
Again, though, it's not like I love SSJ4.. Aside from the aesthetics, it was pretty shit to me, and even when it came to aesthetics, it could've been way better. Magic aging, magic pants - great examples of shitty parts about it.
It's better than SSG to me by sheer virtue of being actually a different design, If there's any other thing I like about it, it's that it embodies the ape motif that saiyans have, something you would at least expect from, you know - a saiyan GOD.

SSJ4 didn't quite hit the mark, but it has some stylistic choices that I think wouldn't work that bad being reused. Sadly, SSJG has been established, and so has the form past it, so I don't see it ever happening, but I do think that stealing some design cues from it would have been pretty nice.

The RR arc had a different tone than tge first chapters, but Toriyama included jokes to light the tone, it helps that deaths actually had emotional meaning back then. Super doesn't know how into comedy and serious tone in the same episode, for some reason the good ones are the SoL ones.

Tien doing technical shit and kikohoing an entire army of mooks were the highlights for me. Super did the Frieza thing better where Goku got outrused instead of just outright beating Frieza before Golden modo.

What I miss is the feeling of speed in fights. DB actually did this pretty well, DBZ as well, but towards the end, and in DBS, it all feels more like regular punches and lots of ki blast spam and telling us, rather than showing us, that - no really - it's really, really quick.
It just doesn't have that appeal of over-the-top lightning speed combat anymore.

Kaioken also makes the hair tint red. The only thing it doesnt change are the eyes. However SSG and Kaioken does have a lot of similarities as they both have similar color scheme and both morphs your physical body. Kaioken making you bigger and SSG making you smaller. SSJ forms doesnt change your physical form except the hair and eyes.
They could've easily incorporated that SSG as mastered Kaioken instead as it would make sense. A form that normally makes you more bulky, high risk, and a fiery ki. But once mastered, it makes you more slim, almost no risk, and a calmer ki.
It would also make more sense since Kaioken literally means "God's Fist"
