High-quality parts for WW2 era star projectors and humanoid robots?
People enter the city only to search for useful or valuable stuff they can bring back with them.
>>
>>144181932
1. Large cities are the most dangerous targets for scavenging because of all of the drones still active in them. The antipersonnel bots that the MC was running from at the beginning are nothing compared to some of the nastier ones.

2. The projector doesn't work, and the robot is also in bad shape. Remember what she said about how a large number of her parts were worn down and in need of replacement?

3. The projector and robot aren't worth the time to scavenge, especially considering that they aren't readily useful for anything. You would be much better off looking for something salable as is or with minor disassembly than spending at least a day taking apart a projector or robot looking for a handful of usable parts.

4. The guy the MC was talking to was presumably talking about a different robot, one that tried to kill him.
>>
>>144182288
>4. The guy the MC was talking to was presumably talking about a different robot, one that tried to kill him.
I'm pretty sure killbots can't talk
>>
>>144182288
>The projector doesn't work, and the robot is also in bad shape. Remember what she said about how a large number of her parts were worn down and in need of replacement?
Even worn-our parts would be highly usable. Imagine the servos or electronics of robot or optics and motors of the projector.
>>
>not looting the infirmary for medical supplies
come on son
>>
>>144182499
>highly usable
That's subjective
>>
>>144182430
Just because the small drones and Fiddler Crabs can't talk doesn't mean that there aren't more advanced humanoid killbots in the setting that can talk. Consider that a single little planetarium on the roof of an average shopping mall had 3 talking humanoid service robots. Do you think there's no chance that the military had full blown synths?

>>144182499
Yes, but what are you actually going to do with said parts? What can a handful of miscellaneous servos that can't support more than the weight of a human be used to make? What are you going to do with a bunch of Zeiss lenses that you can't actually regrind because the technique/tools necessary to do so no longer exist? Unless you have time and carrying capacity to spare, you're better off looking for food, distilled water, ammo, guns, etc.
>>
>>144182906
well, yumemi obviously have an in-built battery that can be used for light. Useful? Obviously, yes.

The motor of Miss Jena can also be used. Srsly, in a post-apocalyptic world like this, anything that's still working is worth scavenging.
>>
>>144182906
>Consider that a single little planetarium on the roof of an average shopping mall had 3 talking humanoid service robots.
Nope, the planetarium only has yumemi, the other 2 worked at the department store and were at least 10 years newer than yumemi.

>Do you think there's no chance that the military had full blown synths?
Lasting 30+ years? Doubtful.
The drones could be younger due to flying factories deployed at the end of the war.
>>
>>144183154
>anything that's still working is worth scavenging.
He mentions a car and a motorbike in the VN, they're really not that desperate, which explains why booze and cigarettes are more valuable.
>>
>>144183603
yes, though that doesn't mean spare parts are equally unimportant
>>
>>144184360
>spare parts
Unless those are readily usable or can be adapted with the few tools he carries they aren't

It's pretty good so far, speaking as a nostalgiafag. It might be hard to build the emotional attachment to the characters for what's to come with the time restrictions they have, but Yumemi is turbo cute so it's all good.

>I want to break her.

The VN says he was born after the war started, which happened 30 years ago. The rain began to fall around ten years into the war, and he says that the atmosphere was getting fucked up already in his earliest memories.

So he's somewhere in his 20s. Not a rugged middle-aged man like /a/ wishes.

The instant I read the VN years ago I know the projection sequence where she gives the narration would be overwhelming if it was given a good anime adaptation. I'm talking like Interstellar-quality graphics in the Junker's imagination. I hope they pull it of decently given the format of this show.

Not the character, the character is just a part of the writing as a whole.
The childlike nature of this AI is hammered so hard that it becomes a parody of itself. You expect it to just start hitting notes
Okay here's where you try and tug heartstrings where it starts to contemplate its own existence, but here's where you have it ignorant and that causes sadness in scene 20.4f.
The writing itself is clumsy and just stepping on themes trying to show how deep it is but it comes off as pandering to the themes themselves. Hurr here's where it remembers something where its creators cry at it
Please nigga

Not to mention the central plot hole of why he stays around, using up the last of his supplies to fix a telescope for a dumb robot.

Hah don't you get it! The robot can't think outside its programming! But really, you just wait and you see it can! But then it experiences sadness and then dies

Seriously red dwarf has more depth than this nonsense.

The anime even shoehorned in the scenes with this pendant so emotionally challenged wannabe lit crit shits like you could understand the Junker's motivation. >The robot can't think outside its programming! But really, you just wait and you see it can!
Yumemi is clearly learning though, she just learned about the god of robots for example. She is also repeatedly shown to contemplate about the world and herself, thinking she'd love to dream and cry in this episode.

Paying attention for even 13 minutes is too hard for that anon. I don't blame him, since it's hard to pay attention to a show in front of him when his head is so far up his own ass.

Well, Yumemi already showed extraordinarily advanced intelligence being able to understand abstract concepts like "god" and "heaven". She is well beyond anything that can be programmed.

I really wish there was more robots like Yumemi in anime. They are usually full humans that occasionally switch to "machine mode" reciting procedures in monotone voice. I'd rather that those acted just fully human then, like the ones in Time of Eve.

Half the constellations are named after gods, anon.

She had those on the database like all the greek gods as shown, but to make the connection from human death to her own end of operation to expect a possible heaven to itself and also make the association of the god of robot to someone she can make her own personal wish shows clear intelligence and self awareness.

This is basically on the same level of depth as 'The fault in our stars' which young demented adults with their hearts on their sleeves fawn over.
