Really despised Hibiki and Yoshio's romance subplot. Completely destroyed Hibiki's character to have her turn into some cringey blushing virgin because of such a lame guy.
All in all the writing was extremely lazy and liked taking little short cuts like that in place of doing anything clever or interesting.
Design and animation was nice though.

It was cruel, unsatisfying and the studio actually tried to make us feel good about it.
It turns Yoshio from a dense motherfucker with good intentions into a guy who is legitimately evil, and concludes with Machi feigning ignorance to process her trauma. It'd be a good ending if Kumamiko was a psychological thriller and not a cutesy slice of life show.

Mostly misunderstandings about the nature of the show. It's an anime that aired at 11pm filled with bullying and laughing at her misery and yet somehow it went "too far" when she ended up sounding like a retard at the end.
These people then start to assume that it's no longer a gag series and things will forever stay miserable and tragic. It's pretty weird.
