There's a lot of difference in animation and artstyle between something like Inferno Cop, LWA, and KLK. I like all of them and they all work great for what they've tried to achieve, but I understand why some people are disappointed with some of it.

Trigger has many kinds of staff members. Little Witch Academia is very much Yo Yoshinaris brainchild and we all know how much he loves American cartoons.
Actually, the whole of Trigger loves American media. They worked for Pixar a bit and they included an Extreme Dinosaurs visual reference in Luluco. I think they recently visited the Cartoon Network offices as well.

Considering I can't think of any other crowdfunded anime, yes. LWA2 paled in comparison to the original. It was very poorly paced and the writing was quite shit and forced, it felt like a direct to dvd movie.

I just rewatched LWA: Parade and oh boy was Akko a little bitch, even more so than I remember:

I don't think it'll be bad, Yoshinari is still in charge.
And KLK had fantastic animation at times, but you could tell they were trying their best to cut corners with the limited budget they had. It worked wonderfully for Nui and Mako's characters, for example, but other parts suffered (parts when they weren't aiming for the comedy-effect).

Trigger is filled with amazing talents, really. It's great to see how different and full of expression their works are. Look at this for example, Imaishi sketched how Satsuki would look in her Nudist Gear and Sushio worke on the character design based on that sketch.

Unlike most anime Trigger makes heavy use of stretch frames, off model frames that when in motion blend together into a cohesive whole. /a/ has a tendency to judge a series art based entirely on still frames more or less ignoring the actual animation. When you have frames that look really stretched out when you pause on them looking at still frames gives the impression that the entire series is QUALITY, when it's actually just designed to make motion smoother.
