She's going to stand up to Eren.
They are going to save Erwin.
Armin will be saved by the contents of the Basement.

Second Zeke Incursion and War on the Village arcs incoming?
>>
>>144128185
Mikasa is in shock and desperate imagining that Armin is going to die.
There will not be any fight. They will give the serum to Armin..
>>
>>144128553
And Erwin?
>>
>>144128602

>>

>>
>>144128602
He is going to die. I was prepared for that since chapter 60? more or less. It is Hange's turn now. But I am pretty sure Erwin will live enough to reach the basement.
>>
>>144128697
He pretty much said he wants to die.
>>

When he talks with Levi. 2 chapters ago, chapter 71/70. Commanders come and go. It is Hange's turn now and Erwin is surprised by Armin's talents.
>>
>>144128866
The only thing that kept him alive was the basement.
>>
>>144128982
Armin makes people stupid so he can appear smart by comparison. It's bad writing. But I don't recall him wanting to die.

>>144129013
"All I have to do is reach out and grab those answers"
I hope he regains consciousness and engages plot armour, then grabs the serum, and injects himself.
>>
>>144129146
Hopefully not. The serum plot drama is annoying anyway.
>>
>>144129183
I'm easily amused, the drama is fun for me.
>>
>>144129146
>Armin makes people stupid so he can appear smart by comparison.
Erwin put him in command for a squad. If he talks about what he thinks is because they ask him. Mikasa, Jean, Eren all of them know they will need to count on Armin to make the decision. It is not about he is a genious and everybody else is stupid, they trust him and that's his talent.
That said, when Keith was commander, Erwin started to shine because of his large formations and it was a new way of thinking that determined Erwin's position right now.

>>
>>144129602
>Erwin put him in command for a squad.
He put him in command of a squad after he said something that should have been blindingly obvious to everyone else.
Armin's talent is estimation, more than his intelligence. He makes assumptions and picks the most likely.

>That said, when Keith was commander, Erwin started to shine because of his large formations and it was a new way of thinking that determined Erwin's position right now.
I don't quite get your point.

>>144129798
It has been a long time. Soon, with luck.
>>
Whatever is in the basement will make 60-70℅ of the fanbase hate wall people.

>>
>>144129883
>blindingly obvious
It wasn't. Erwin was surprised because he never thought about that. He makes assumptions, but the right ones, depending of the situation. He corroborated Hange's theory about the CT that resulted in his death.

>I don't quite get your point.
Both Erwin and Armin were capable to surprise people around them. They don't make people around more idiot or something because of that, it's their talent. None of the soldiers consider it like that.
>>
>>144129883
>Soon, with luc
I hope so anon.

>Armin's talent is estimation, more than his intelligence
I agree. Wasn't that the whole point of showing that Armin couldn't lead and let Jean take over? From the recent chapter as well, it seems like Hanji is gonna groom Jean too.
>>
>>144130084
Care to elaborate on why you think that?

>>144130088
How was it not obvious? I'm genuinely asking what makes you say that.

Being capable of surprising someone doesn't equate to being intelligent.

>>144130130
I like the idea of Jean being groomed for command. It's been alluded to a few times, but I feel as though it's been a bit of a focal point recently.
>>
>>144130243
The thing is, they both are intelligent. A simple mind could not reach such conclusions.
>>
>>144130130
Jean suits better in the Garrison or MP. He has such a noble and generous heart and he even doubt about what he's thinking when Hange was ready to kill Reiner.
>>
Everyone is over thinking this. Erwin is going to cough up some blood, say save Armin, and then die.
>>
>>144130391
Pretty much.
>>
>>144130309
Nonsense. They both are intelligent, but not so much so that nobody else could reach the conclusions they come too.

That nonsense was mentioned in the manga since chapter 1. They can think in a different way and that's why they came to these conclusions.

>>
>>144130391

This.

>and then die.

>>
>>144130084
>>144130243
The basement contains proof of the lost history of the world, being books, Grisha's journals, tecnology or other things.
So far everyone who knows something about that history has called wall people "evil", the fact that the FK called wall people "sinners" and the neccesity to "save" the coordinate power from them.

Long ago the first ones in the wall did something, and the walls were constructed for their protection and to keep the inside, like a prison.
>>
>>144130728
It is either than Eren has the power to turn titans into humans or Grisha left a hint of an antidote to heal those titans.
The rest is information.
>>
>>144130665
I'm not trying to devalue the characters, their contributions or their portrayal, but saying that divergent thinking is at all special is nonsense. They are simply written in as being more competent when the situation demands it.

Isayama isn't going to kill a main character anymore than George Martin is willing to kill Jon Snow or Daenerys. Faggot probably saw the Jon Snow resurrection and thought it would be a good idea. You'll see, Armin is going to be back, and it'll prove that the manga does have plot armor, just all the other cliche anime that AoT love to bitch about while ignoring their obvious hypocrisy.
>>
I want Bert to get out of this alive.
>>
>>144130930
I disagree. Grisha only told Eren about the basement when he showed his will to join the SL, as Grisha considers them special for their need to leave the walls and their inquisitive nature. The wall wasn't breached then and he still didn't have the coordinate.

He just wanted to teach him about the lost history of humanity, probably the proof of what they did to the outside world.

Maybe an older brother influenced by their father views on the walled people.

>>144133004
If someone is going to change sides it will be Eren. And even so, he will keep with his ideology.
>>
>>144132909
I thought I made my peace with it but it's just hard to accept that he will have such a random and anticlimactic death without any proper closure. We already saw everything about Erwin barring the basement, while we still barely know anything about Bert. There's also his role in the story and I honestly can't see anyone replacing him.

We don't know much about the SnK world save for what's inside the walls, it's kind of a major plot point. The Walls themselves could be situated somewhere in central Europe, or if there's a grain of truth to the story from the cover it could be North America. It could also be another world that's similar to Earth but has a different geographic layout etc.

Basically there's a few point that make readers believe Grisha and Zeke are a lot older than they are. Too much speculation, too litle basis.

We know Grisha wanted to enter the walls and he previously cleared the path of titans to do so, which implies preparation.
We know that somehow, Zeke has some sort of personal relationship with him, which implies he knows him on a personal level.
He wasn't too old 20 years ago, maybe 28 at most.
It's too little time to be too much apart in age.

I'll still go with the brothers theory until further information.

No way he was 15 or 20 when he met Keith. He was at least 25. He wasn't a teen at all. And at that age (25) he could have fathered one child, 200, 100 years ago or so. Also, Zeke's titan seems special, maybe MT and Coordinate made their users age faster. Or Zeke just was an adult when he got MT's shifter ability.

Theory: Grisha was an ODB who tried to impregnate women of a variety of different bloodlines to see the reaction each of them would have with his Jaeger genes.
(Remember, Isayama confirmed in an interview that bloodlines would play an important role.)

One of the first was Kuchel, who at the time was the only living female Ackerman. Once he found her, he begged her to have his child in return for something, money maybe. That's why she was so adamant about having it when Kenny asked her to get an abortion.

Carla was another, since she was from the "slave" bloodline. Grisha loved her for sure, but also was curious about the Jaeger line interacting with the mass genepool in the walls.

Next was Mikasa's mother. Notice how he ran to her first and looked visually upset when he found out she was dead, then immediately focused on Mikasa.
It's possible the baby Mikasa's mother was pregnant with was Grisha's child.

But since the last Asian was dead, all Grisha had left was Mikasa. This is why he was so open to offering her to stay with them. He wanted to keep his eye on her so he could impregnate her as soon as she was ready (or hell, he may have even tried already. Mikasa seems to change he subject whenever Eren brings up Grisha.)

As for the warrior village, I'm willing to bet Eren has a very extended family.
>>
>And Erwin happens to barely live
And here I hoped he died on that page.
>>
>>144137083
>They've both been dead for some time now...
What if Grisha was planning to cure them with titan serum? And that's why he overreacted about checking their vitals? I bet he knew Mamakasa and Dadckerman were special and could react different to the titan serum, which means no titanization and full recovery.
>>
I wish Isayama would come here and lurk everytime he runs out of ideas.
>>
>>144137083
That's horrible. I can see Grisha doing some experiments with Mikasa but it was related to the Ackerpower and brain-erased.
Levi and Eren being brothers? nah. I don't think so. By the way, that thing about Mikasa's mom being pregnant is not canon.
>>
>>144136958
Maybe that anon meant 'died' as in when he became trapped as a mindless titan?

I keep holding on to the theory that while anyone can become a mindless titan, you need be within a certain age range to gain and use the shifting ability properly. But then there's Grisha and Zeke.
>>
>>144137270
>And now Erwin, Manlet and Armin are Zeke's children, and Zeke is Eren's brother. So Eren is Armin, Erwin and Manlet's uncle.
>Thank you 4chan for the feedback! Next chapter is about Princess Ymir!
>>
>>144136958
Let's think he was 28 when he entered the walls, he married Carla in the span of 2 years at most? That makes him 30 something when he had Eren, and died when Eren was 10? That would make him 40.
>>
>>144137083
Also adding: If the "See You Later" girl is Frieda, it could explain why Eren and her met. There's a chance Grisha tried to "arrange" something with her. But for whatever reason, the pregnancy didn't work out. It would explain her delicate mental state as well as her obsessive relationship with her baby sister.

And also, it could explain the true nature of their fight quite a bit.
>>
>>144137083
how exactly would Mikasa be an Ackerman ?
>>
>>144137430
Not Mikasa, the baby Mikasa's mother was carrying which was why she was being visited by the doctor, according to the side story.

>>
>>144137491
That's not canon.
>>
>>144137396
>her obsessive relationship with her baby sister
She knew she had a sister so she went and meet her, but for her protection she erased her memories.
It wasn't obsesive, she got mad when Historia said she wanted to reach out of the fence, that triggered the FK memories of "you can never go outside the walls" and upset her quite a bit.
>>
>>144137377
Who's on the next cover? When is Hitch coming back so JH can become canon?
>>
>>144137491
That was in Mikasa's head.
>>
>>144137396
I bet Grisha actually met Frieda while looking for the Reiss family. He was fine with them for the moment, because there weren't any potential risks. But when the wall was attacked, he realised they did nothing. Even being in Sina, Frieda's titan would have reach Wall Maria at least to try to seal the wall. When Grisha found them, he realised they were performing a ritual to erase people's memory. And I bet again, that happened in shifter's village too, and that's the reason he left or was exiled, while Zeke stayed against his ow brother. Grisha stole the coordinate, as it was the original plan from the shiftervillages bosses. And he got mad about doing it, but to keep faithfull to himself, he decided to pass the power to Eren. Hint: Grisha might able to fight against the will but is not inmune to it. Eren is different from being a mix.
>>
>>144137664
>That would mean Grisha and Carla had Eren 5 years after meeting each other.
Which could be possible, the disease, the cure, the courtship etc, those things take time.
>>
>>144137491

>>
>>144137825
I don't think the FK "will" is a will that can be surpassed, it's just the memories of past coordinates.
If you where a Reiss and inherited it, you would know why the FK did what it did and why it's important to do so. You would understand the reasons behind such acts and go with them, not because "it" controls you, but because you understand the truth of the world and see the benefits of keeping it.

The question is, why is there the necessity of that world? Why nobody can leave the walls? Why is everyone inside a sinner?
>>
So if Grisha is originally from warrior town why, then, did he tell Eren to take revenge on them?
>>
>>144137825
Here's a dark thought: Grisha did love Carla, but he also needed her for her blood to make a hybrid baby. A mix of someone from within the walls and one from beyond, bonus if Grisha's bloodline is significant. If he always intended for Eren to get the coordinate, that would be messed up.
>>
That time Grisha cured a whole town of a strange illness, could it be possible that he injected them with titan serum and that explains why MT is capable of creating titans out of nowhere?
>>
>>144138266
I prefer this over actual mind control, which is a cheap plot device. The fact that they agreed to not change anything is way more interesting. Wonder what will happen if/when Eren gets those memories.

Maybe he could never find it in his heart to forgive his brother Zeke for being indirectly responsible for Carla's death.

I don't know, maybe he defected from the village or was exiled so he's against them. Probably didn't agree with their beliefs.
>>
>>144138544
Poor Keith. I hope Hange still has feelings for him.
>>
>>144138281
He only said "take revenge for your mother" didn't specify if it was against the titans, against the walled world or the shifters.
>>
>>144138737
I have this theory that he may have been kicked out for being a "deviant" as in he didn't agree with the ideals. So he was left to his own fate in the outside world where he fought his way towards the walled society. I think the same thing could have happened to Ymir.
>>
I think Grisha is the bad one. He could have a soft side (his love for Carla and Eren) but his intentions were not good.
>>
>>144138817
If Zeke and Grisha are brothers, that means they had a father who was "compassionate" to the walled people, maybe he wanted to check for himself and found they were not as "evil" as shifters think.
Which would also explain the "brainwashing" part of Zeke speech to Eren, only it wasn't brainwashing per se, but his favorable views of the walled people.
>>
>>144138934
Of course, killing thousands of innocent without explaining is being good, while living with the humans and trying to help them is just being shitty. Not even trying to pretend Grisha was a saint, but come on!
>>
>>144128185

Actually what we should be thinking is what death would produce the best result for the story.

If Armin dies Eren could snap and join BRA when he finally learns that humanity where the bad guys all along but on the other hand without Erwin there is no plan after the basement.

I don't think Erwin is cut to be the final boss.
>>
>>144139048
Both of them are the same. Grisha killed the Reiss children without mercy. I don't know if Zeke is his son or his brother but they are not quite different.
>>
>>144139048
Think about it this way, maybe the existence of those humans is evil in itself, they individually are innocent, but as "humans behind the walls" they are some sort of evil into the world.
Then, helping them is evil, while killing them is a righteous action. This is the way shifters think, the question is why.
>>
>>144138999
If that's what he really meant by brainwashing, then this is more understandable. But Zeke said he was also brainwashed by Grisha, which is what confuses me. He made it sound like he understood Eren because they've gone through the same thing. I think. So he's trying to prevent Eren from following the same fate, whatever that is?

I may be wrong, but when Annie tried to escape and destroyed the face of the wall, she was inside Sina? That would put them at what would presumably be ground zero of the walls creation if we assume the hardening that created the walls moved outwards from the centre. If we assume that, it would stand to reason that FK was in Sina, so it could possibly be him.
Though I grant you this, FK was presented as looking more like a tall version of DT than the CT seen in the picture above.

If I recall correctly, Rod wanted Hissy to have a form that was well suited for combat. That doesn't strike me as the CT, given that her transformation ritual would have destroyed the cavern with him inside. I personally think the malformation of his Titan was due to the misadministration of the serum. I don't think ingesting the serum, while in human form, has the same results as ingesting Titan Spinal Fluid whilst in Titan form. Purely speculatory of course.

>>144144186
That may well tie in to the theory of Ymir being Titan royalty. But as far as I'm aware, Titans are mostly unlike humans when it comes to genetic traits except for the Jaegers that all have pointy ears and Zeke who (presumably being older than Grisha) has a Titan with body hair all over whereas Grishas Titan only has some hair on the chest and a beard.

>Maria, Rose, and Sina were the first kings kids.

>he was related to FK. Could that explain some similiarties between himself and the Wall Titan?
No similarities, the coordinate rounded up some CTs and ordered to harden, probably humanity was made to forget because they were witness to that.

That's not really what I was talking about.

>>
>>144144018
Like a never ending line of CTs. The walls are made of CT.
>>
>>144144779
Nothing clear, all speculah.
The Ackermans and Orientals were unnaffected by the FK cry, it's assumed that other clans or minority races that are not part of the majority are not affected by it as well.

If we want to speculate, probably most nobles of Wall Sina are part of these clans as they are the ruling class and, when they were asked by the SL, most administrative workers were not worried about the coup because "they will forget about it soon, and everything would get back to normal"

Probably the Ackermans, with their superior strength and Orientals, with some other thing, where shunned by this ruling class or deemed too dangerous or maybe they started to disagree with the state of things.

>The mystery surrounding the weight of titans.
The titans body is made with a special flesh apparently, no normal knife can cut it, only military cutter blades or other knifes made with the bamboo iron.

I have a theory, as bamboo iron only grows in a secluded place and, even when it's made of iron it's also a plant, maybe the titans function the same way making the titans/plant/fungus theory a thing.
This was mentioned in the Before The Fall series, it's interesting, but I don't know about how much of it is canon.

The one thing about their weight that bothers me, is this.
Hanji mentioned that when she kicked the head of a Titan, it weighed next to nothing. Demonstrated by how far it flew when she kicked it.
Yet when a Titan falls over, even a small one, the weight of it causes considerable damage. Plus, if they aren't supposed to weigh very much, when Reiner threw the Titans, they should have acted strangely because of air resistance acting on a light object. At this point, I fear that Isayama has forgotten about that particular plot point.
And I haven't read Before the Fall. Would you recommend it?

>>144146421
Hanji was always meant to be the successor in continuity. I feel as though it would be a cheap play to have Armin take his place. Hanji has years of experience, a proven record of prevailing against the odds, strong leadership skills and a demonstrable ability to make the tough calls. She has also, quite probably, attained veteran status and is thus more likely to be taken seriously by those still inside the walls should she return alive.
Armin has been in service less than a year and his so called successes, as I've argued all along, have mostly been based on assumption and gambles that are the product of poor writing.
That being said, I think that what you're saying is what will happen, but I hope it doesn't.

inb4 in Erwin's last bit of willpower, he tells Levi to inject the serum into Armin.

>Armin has always been meant to be Erwin's successor anyway.
Hanji is Erwin's successor, not some badly written Captain Obvious because Isayama needed to give Armin a pity skill to justify his nonsensical presence.

>Perhaps the weight quickly vanishes.
But wasn't their feather weight the reason why they managed to move way faster than they should?

I'm sorry, I don't remember any mention of that. Although, that would make some sense.

So for successors -
Scouting Legion - Hanji
then Armin after her?
Military Police - Jean? I always thought Marlo would but then didn't end well.
Garrison - Rico? Idk

Hange is first but Armin also plays a big role in the SL. Hange will relay in him somehow.

Well I remember it being explained somewhere.
Could have been some anime only scene though.
It's been years so my memory is quite hazy.

First part, I agree. Because is fucking obvious. But Hange is Erwin's successor not Armin, and that's was kinda proved because Hange is the fucking new Commander, and Armin lacks leader skills. And not, EMJSC doing what he tells doesn't qualify him as good leader.
