This is a very odd announcement. The Vivid anime site is still dead and no staff is saying anything about a S2 on Twitter which is a sharp contrast to everyone jumping all over Vivid Strike within minutes of its announcement just a few days ago. It seems far more likely that this is based on outdated information about Vivid Strike than it being some sort of accidental leak about a proper S2.

What has been scanned of Vivid Life so far is based on the main canon universe. Most chapters are inconsequential for world or character building anyways, same with Nanoha A la Carte, they give you an idea of what the characters are doing in their daily life in a more SoL type of setting with no big events going on, something that the big manga don't have time to do, but aside of that there isn't much else going on.

There is still a lot of money involved in Nanoha and the powers controlling it would like to keep the status quo going on as long as they can. Nanoha and Fate will act lovey dovey, grow old together, and generally act like a couple; but it won't ever be said that they are one.

Anything officially published is canon unless stated otherwise, and that goes for all forms of media. For Nanoha is a bit more complicated, because a particular manga, movie or tv series can be a part of a alternate universe and be canon within that continuity, for example Vivid Life is clearly based on the Vivid events and in the events of the "main" continuity, if it had a lot of recurrent contradictions with the world building of the main continuity we would have to call it an different continuity, but that's not the case.

She's not haunted by her past as she doesn't have the memories of the past Jeremiahs, just their combat experience. But yeah she have things in common with Einhart except Sieg is not edgy which is kind of an obvious but still fun subversion (black clad super threatening girl with ridiculous power inherited from a line of historically renowed badasses feared by everyone turns out to be a super friendly sweetie that just fights for fun).

It's not necessarily an always present trait in Vivid Life, and even if it were you don't necessarily have to see that side of the character in Vivid if it's not required by the plot.
