clearly some edgy shit, and it's all justified and not over the top either, as well as showing how deeply she's fallen into an addiction of sorts in staying by Mitsubishi's side by outright stating her intentions/feelings towards Nissan. wonderfully done and I could not have said it better myself.

a classic that's seen better days, but being a one-liner that's being spoken either through telepathy or being projected out loud and with such a somber tone to it, it's easily colder and sadder than the entirety of that area in the mansion, only to be followed by this diamond:
"Sleep... Alongside with my daughter." (or something to that effect)
Words that might've been just edgy in any other context were filled with both malice and resignation here, as the events that happened this time around were somehow even worse than the first time around.
really, you can't argue against how well-done these lines and scenes are. we can also include Betelgeuse, but just about everything he said was great so that'd be too much, to say nothing of how outstanding his VA performed his role. I cannot wait for the next episodes, and I have to ask, does the LN continue to keep up this level of quality? It's by no means amazing, but it's worlds above the trash heaps of LNs that ARE popular, so it's definitely worth reading at the very least and I'd be glad to know that it doesn't turn to shit after how well the adaptation has turned out.

The point is clown man is not all that perceptive about Subaru. He even asks Ram what he thinks of Subaru. He has also suspicions about him being a spy. What this all tells me is that the place is secure and they don't allow just any visitors. With Subaru suddenly barging in that would be a strange day for them.
So right from the get go they do not trust him. They are keeping a close eye on him and if something goes wrong they immediately turn to him. Ram probably killed Subaru at one point as well. Rem killing Subaru was all for the same reason of not trusting him.

Oh and to add, you'd also think there's something really wrong when the visitors smells of the witch.
At some point Subaru tried to it and that intensifies the aura of the witch. During the hound he used that to get their attention.
