The fact that emotions are just the results of chemical reactions doesn't actually change the fact that you still feel the emotions and that they actually exist. If anything, solidifying emotions in concrete, physically-observable states makes them more tangible than when we simply thought about them as vague states of being. Removing the mysticism from the emotions doesn't make them any less meaningful unless you're some kind of bitter robot-wannabe.

That's not a negative state. We aren't making things bad by realizing this. We are creating a neutral state. If everything is arbitrary, there is literally nothing from you deciding things are arbitrarily good.
