I think we all need to have a serious discussion pertaining to the fact that our gracious writer known as Tappei Nagatsuki. He is not the proficient writer we once thought him to be, in all actuality he is a hack and a fraud peddling low quality goods, he is equatable to the snake oil salesmen of yore. We have seen him throw out worthless and petty drama time and time again yet accepted his skill as a writer nonetheless, we suck in his scenes of mindless violence like a starving calf does his mothers teat, we do this even though it is obscenely obvious to even the lowest of the common plebes that violence could be written by a third grader. For far too long have we debased ourselves reveling in simple adrenaline evoking scenes and suffering through mindless drivel between. I say it is high time that we demand of Tappei Nagatsuki a higher quality story and that he should be held accountable for his poorly thought out setting and plot lines that are so blatantly come up with on the spot. I personally have spent several weeks deep within the bowels of the beast known as the Narou and in my times there I have gathered evidence which leads me to believe there is a origin point for all the flaws which our writer has. I propose that Tappei Nagatsuki is an autisitc pedophile lacking in the common moral fiber that binds upstanding society, I assert this to have been the driving factor in his early leave from home as he had made unwelcome sexual advances upon his underage sister possibly even raping her. The resulting social backlash and banishment from his normal everyday life would be an extreme stress factor to someone with autism, leading to him seeking a way to vent his frustrations in some way. That way is Re:zero; Re:zero is an autisitc pedophiles emotional vent enabled and allowed to continue for far too long. I thank you for your time reading and I welcome all constructive criticism.

This show had its moments. It has a dumb set of scenarios though. The only thing that's really pulling this for me is the way the show is executed. There were actually times that I was teary eyed. The lap pillow and the one where he was chased by Rem was just heart wrenching.

I still don't understand Subaru as a character. I mean, I can't really relate to his situation because I've never seen the people I know killed several times over, or suffered my own death numerous times, only to be reset back to a point where you can eventually save the day. But, I get that he's not a hero. He's about as "everyman" as it gets, and in this world of magic and skilled swordsmen, he's basically a level 1 noob with very few skills. The one thing he has going for him is the ability to reset back to a save point, something that he hasn't been particularly fond of, and understandably so, and use his knowledge to his advantage.
I get still freaking out over the Guts lady after knowing who she is. I get being confused over why Rem / Ram keep killing him (or perceptively so). I also get that seeing his friends die, not knowing he's going to reset to a point where things can be fixed, can be traumatizing.
What I don't get is how he hasn't grown to accept any of this shit. He breaks down so easily, which might be why Betelgeuse was mocking him, that it comes off as comical rather than dramatic. You've already seen some shit, dude, somewhere along the line you've GOT to become desensitized to death and horror. Okay, maybe not this level of horror, I mean some of the shit he saw was heinous, but once he was back at the fruit stand and saw Rem alive, he should have been kicking the brain into high gear to figure out how to get out of this.
Instead, he goes nuts, which is a plot device to get him to meet Betelgeuse for the first time, watch Rem get again slaughtered, and find out that she loves him. It took him vowing to kill Betelgeuse to "get over" his trauma? Revenge is what has allowed him to snap back to reality and realize he has a chance to fix things?

I felt Hakomari was more engaging even though it stayed at one area. Re:Zero was linear in the first arc where you can pretty much predict what was going to happen. Hakomari was more engaging with the audience by having the author keep the ambiguity until the end, slowly revealing tidbits while progressing the plot in contrast to Re:Zero where you pretty much have all the arsenal you need handed to you, to realize what going on.It wasn't as easy for me to realize that Mogi was the killer.I don't remember everything since I read it a long time ago, but from what I can recall, Kazuki's realization of what was going on was more well delivered than Subaru's.
