So what makes the Kyoani system better? Why is it better that they give their animators pensions and don't pay per drawing?

Fuck off with the studio wars and studio circlejerks. They're all cancer.

I just want to know what the pros are. I'm not a specialist at management. But from what I heard it's the amount of money that was the problem. It's the fact that animators are payed low wages. Not the fact that it's not a pension. If they were payed more for each drawing wouldn't it still be better.

All we know is that every other studio wants to be like Kyoani

Is there really no answer for this question? Or do people just say the whole pension thing without ever thinking about it?

PA works wants to be like kyoani but then so what? Who cares about those faggots?

if Japanese people used computers properly the anime industry would flourish

People say whatever they want about their fanboysm cancer but I've always wondered how can a studio manage to put out such quality compared to most others.

I did notice they don't do as many shows per season (more like 1 per 2 seasons) besides movies, so it might mean they have more time to work.

The quality assurance might also come from the director/management, as in "redo until it's good" or something like that mentality.

And lastly, I think most of the high quality is because of good key animators.
In between animators just need to follow strictly their script and I think that's due to the key animator to get the smooth animation they usually do.

All in all, I like KyoAni because of their animation quality even if their shows/sources are questionable.

They basically do 2 shows+1 movie per year plus treat/pay their staff well so high quality is always assured.

Phantom World was questionable but I think their current lineup is golden.

The animation of Phantom World was perfectly fine. The creative direction, maybe not so much.

Wait so other studios pay by the drawing? No wonder forced animation is so common nowadays.

Gives the animators enough time to actually put effort into each frame they make instead of doing the bare minimum of acceptable work in order to get in more drawings.

4, 7, 9, and 12 were pretty creative

Because "Finds a way" businessman knows how to treat workers right.

I think this applies to all the careers.
>>

Well I don't think it's fair to call to the direction because usually I'd say that no matter how good a director is, if the source is shit, he'll end up with shit, but KyoAni DID the K-ON magic once so there's always hope...
>>
That's what makes me mad about Kyoani. They're not using their animation quality to its fullest potential by polishing the story

The point is the animators did nothing wrong.

Don't forget 3 and 6
Why not just say every episode is?
>>
It's because all of their animators are in-house and the studio functions autonomously, like what laymen think all studios work. So paying them per hour instead of drawing keeps the workflow smooth if an animator works on different things simultaneously and let's them put as much drawings as their schedule can fit. Of course the real catch is that the wages are actually good otherwise it wouldn't matter.

I'm not sure if other positions like storyboarding and sakkan are paid like that or get bonuses per each episode completed though. I don't think anyone not at the studio has that level of information
