Action duels are good in theory because they are the replacement situational spell/trap cards we all hate. By having action cards there is more consistency and realness to the character's decks. On the other hand, it still doesn't get rid of that bullshit factor and the running around and doing gravity-defying stunts looks retarded and wastes time/animation budget.

I'm sorry anon, but that's not happening until the final episode. Yuya's Extra Deck upgrades are all out of pattern. He got DRXD for a while as an Xyz, and then OERD as his XyzPend. He got his own Synch in EnPal and then a SynPend in NiHiPal. He got 3 Fusions in the 3 upgraded Pendulum Dragons, and he'll likely get a FusPend that might or might not be an upgrade of his Fusion monsters.
There's a rumor going on after all that the Fusion Pendulum will be a Warrior-type reference to E-HERO and BLS.

At no other point did the plot shift to make Yuya right. In Synchro: Yuya was just right by the ideology of synchro dimension and Jack pulled the same sort of thing vs Sergey, so it was even foreshadowed that that's how the city would respond to a duel like that. Additionally, we left Synchro right after, so we didn't even see the actual results of Yuya's actions beyond the council saying "we were wrong" so they could avoid taking the heat for things to come.

There are so many ways to remove monsters currently that putting an otherwise subpar card into your deck for the sake of outing an easily resolvable situation via the battle phase is just asking to reduce consistency.
Were it easily searchable, then sure. But as of right now, there's one card that can search it easily, and there are generally better options to search for.

Horrible. 3 fusions 4 if Odd Eyes Metal Claw becomes a thing, 5 when the fusion pendulum hits and 6 with the OCG original Vortex dragon not to mention 7 and possible 8 and 9 with Yuri's Strave Venom upgrade and manga dragon if Yoshida decides to do it that's 9 fusions Yuya's deck is capable of compared to the 1 xyz in Dark Rebellion and zero tuners due to there being no performapal tuner with the aid from his magicians that's 3 synchros of his own yugo's 3 dragons and 2 other xyz because yuya has no rank up spells nor a means to rank up at all so no requiem and the other one is an ocg original he can make by using the level 7 magician as a monster.
so overall Yuya has 9 fusions to choose from, 6 synchros to choose from and 3 xyz to choose from. This is bullshit of the highest calibur I demand Yuya get his own xyz and a magician that makes rank up xyz change possible without a rank up card. AND that a magician that does fusion summoning is created.

I actually really liked this episode.
I'm especially happy since they changed the Arc Area Project intro to the Yuus, so now they cannot leave that plot point unfinished. Seeing what the hell they're going to do with only about 30 episodes left with such a large amount of plot devices is what's keeping me hooked.
