It has occurred to me that part of Kyoko's reasoning for supporting Naegi early on may have been to try and keep some of the heat off her. After all, who better to kill than the girl that keeps solving all the murders?
This may actually be more of an issue in DR3 since at least in DR1 and 2 you had to actually murder a person, this time around there's a traitor and they've been handed a massive advantage.
