I was kind of hoping to see another side of Amano in a different manga, but so far it's the same constant blabbering about living in the moment, finding something to enjoy in everything and appreciating your surroundings.
All of that was great in Aria because it also had a great setting that was interesting in its own right, but also backed those ideas up. Nobody, meanwhile, gives a shit about scuba diving.

Aria's big theme is finding happiness in the world around you. Her world isn't idyllic like Akari's where beauty is everywhere around her, but instead it only shows itself when she takes chances with new experiences. Diving is the obvious one, but just about everything Futaba does is new to her and takes her courage to follow through with.
