Even though I know that, the difference in treatment bothers me. Arima easily took down Shachi, who was one of the strongest in the first series. When Arima didn't want to kill Kaneki, but cut off all his limbs and stabbed him a bunch of times. The Kirishima's had a "life or death" fight, but were able to hold their own against him because the plot gave them an easy out. Some people construe that as plot armor, I guess. To me, it cheapens their Arima fight and abilities, as well as the ongoing fight.
