Never read the manga and didn't have super high hopes but this was really good. With a character like Pikari there's no way this can get boring. I really like all the characters already. Whole season is turning out a lot better than expected.

The first episode made some good order change and I expect the stuff they skipped to be shown starting with the second episode. As far as casting and animation goes, I think they did perfect work in moving Amanchu to screen. That said, we're still only in the first episode.
Personally Aria is my favourite manga ever and I've never been able to sit through the anime for terribly long, but I'm happy with what we've gotten of Amanchu.
