I actually really liked this first episode. The main girls are cute and I thought the segment at the end was a nice touch.
Good shows with much or only some focus on legitimate science and not fantasy science are too rare. I hope this doesn't go to shit. It's also a damn shame that the only known subs for this are funi but such is the world we live in.

I would say the same but that scene basically foreshadowed the later scene in which Mari performs CPR on the fainted woman. It didn't really amount to much but I thought it was a neat little detail that gave her some characterization in that she is a good visual learner, despite low test scores. She couldn't remember the abbreviation A.E.D but she vividly recalled the way Shun gave chest compressions and capably recreated the process.
