Contrary to what you think, Re:Zero was flopping hard, and I mean fucking hard for the first few episodes.
After episode 7 aired, that's when the show blew up. It wasn't the time travel aspect that made the elevens look at it after that. It was actually the first 5 mins of that episode.
Stalker rankings for Re:Zero had it hovering at top 600 from episode 1 to 6. After episode 7, it went straight up to top 100 and never looked back.

Alderamin on the Sky's first episode reminded me of the first session of a new D&D campaign. The show quickly finds a reason to toss together a balanced party of six heroes, sticks them all on a boat, and then sinks that boat immediately.
