It has grown on me a bit but i definitely prefer the 1st and 3rd opening, i guess i'd put it on par with the 2nd opening.

In the manga I'll be interested to see if Kuro ultimately does anything with UBW and how it might be affected. I wonder if that makes it inherently easier to manifest a reality marble, because the corrosion of the world isn't resisted so strongly.

Exactly. 3rei may have the usual silliness but the tone is still much darker than the previous parts, and the OP should reflect that.
The song is also focused practically entirely on Illya and Miyu, so why couldn't the OP follow suit? Like why the fuck is this shot getting lingered on when the song talking about how their looking up at the same sky? You could've given us a great shot of Miyu staring out the castle window, for example. If you want to show Erika and Darius/Julian, do it in a quick half-second shot. If you want to show the enemies they'll be fighting, a close-up on their faces in the montages is enough. And why is the clip with Rin and Luvia fighting even a thing when they're practically irrelevant until late in the game? The cut-in was enough. Et cetera, et cetera.
It's like whoever handled the OP only cared about matching the timing of the visuals to the song rather than the actual content of the visuals.

They've already established everything they need to establish with the flashback, except for last one thing. Which is an easy one, "how did Shirou get captured".
Basically it should end this month, as he's doing alright in the battle before Thor hits him from behind, and they lock him up.

This, the biggest problem is its a flashback.
Theres no tension when we know the outcome, Miyu gets sent to safety and Shirou gets captured. The events leading to that point were interesting and its good we saw them but most of the grail war was unnecessary.
For example rather than the latest chapter of just Shirou doing UBW it would have been a thousand times more interesting having him unveil it in a live fight.

I mostly agree with you, it's been reasonably tightly done given the ground covered and it's significant backstory for Miyu and the whole scenario they're all facing. I think it's been done quite well, and definitely agree that for someone coming later who can just read it straight through I think it'll seem about right.
That said a good 13-14 chapters out of 44 or so total isn't nothing either. I think it's fully justified because they're building lore in a significantly divergent parallel world that hasn't been encountered before so they can't just rest upon existing canon with a few tweaks like in original Prisma-verse. I can understand the hunger to get back to the girls though, even if this is all for the best long term and full of awesome stuff too.
I will be curious to see if Hiroyama actually intends to finish the entire thing in 3rei or if he'll ultimately split it up one more time into a 4ier instead. Given all his awesome stuff and setup feels like full resolution could easily take just as long as we've seen until now and that'd make 3rei really, really long in comparison to the first two.I want an afterward with their married life.

That's kind of a lot anon, particularly given the kind of choices Illya may have to make and what sort of stuff gil was hinting at or is up to. Depending on how they go about it, particularly if there's a bit of mirrorverse SoL while trying to figure it out, it could easily take another 20-30 chapters which would be like 2 more years. Or more if there are breaks. I don't consider that "ending soon".

Who cares, main universe Shirou is a genuine normal, with no fire disaster or grail war and thus no avalon or void of self he's pretty different from any other version. He'd have some latent circuits still I guess (wonder what his true ancestry is or if it's just a freak chance) but his origin won't even be sword anymore. He could end up with any random woman he meets 10 years down the line. I guess they'll probably just leave it ignored, maybe use it for a laugh with a bit more Rin/Luvia cat fighting.

Fuck, I just realized that Silver Link compounded their fuckup last season this time even more as I thought up about it. They made Beatrice and Angelic actually face them in combat rather then just be passing through to grab Miyu like in the manga. So now isn't all the surprise gone for the encounter later? In the 3rei Angelic and Beatrice have no knowledge of them. Angelic is surprised when Illya asks about Miyu, and doesn't treat them as anything more then random invaders from mirrorverse initially. Beatrice doesn't know about the Kaleido Sticks.

The Ainsworths have two doll types, actual dolls they install a dead soul onto (presumably using some form of the Heaven's Feel) and humans that they remove the personality from and place into an object. Angelica and Beatrice are the latter types, so maybe something will come of that, or maybe she'll develop. In the recent face off with Shirou she does stuff like (albeit in an arrogant way) offer to let him go if he submits, they banter more then would be expected, etc. She also seems pretty mad about him taking on the role of a puppet himself voluntarily.
I'm not saying I think it likely myself, but Hiroyama is a madman so I can't dismiss it like I would with another author.

Absolutely,particularly if he found out anything about her past and realized what mirror-Kerry tried to do with her, since in prismaverse he basically decided to follow a completely contradictory path.
