It's pretty much clear that Kabaneri was technically the AotS since it applied so much artistically, but which series was your personal best of the season? I'd say Flying Witch because it was really comfy and fun.

If you mean technically as in animation terms, the animation was often times garbage with crappy stills all over the place. If you mean in a rules sense, its still shit because art style and animation are only a few of many qualifications needed to make an anime great. Story is one of them, otherwise a beautifully animated ball rolling down a hill would be AOTS.

What did he mean by this? I assume this statement refers to the character designs, because it sure as fuck isn't referring to the animation. The show had far more usage of still frames, speed lines, and other cost-cutting animation shortcuts than necessary, not to mention the mediocre cinematography. If that statement is referring to the plot or characters then that's even worse, because the majority of the cast had no real development or characterization beyond a basic level and the plot did nothing to distinguish itself from the typical garden-variety shounenshit. It even had fucking ki blasts and auras.

Pretty much tho. There was nothing engaging about Kabaneri at all. Animation and music were pretty mediocre. Plot was fucking stupid and the characters will be forgotten besides maybe the 12 year old.

Not good =/= terrible. Kabaneri's story certainly wasn't good but it's nowhere near terrible. It's extremely mediocre with a decent first couple episodes.

Generic =/= bad. Again, if something isn't overtly terrible you wouldn't call them shit but mediocre or average. Also, Mumei and Ikoma, our main characters, received more than ample development and arguably Ayame and Kurusu as well, though to a lesser extent. I will agree most side characters were fairly boring and Biba plus his squad were awfully written.

You could at least point out what you think is wrong with the animation. The art style I believe deserves praise is certain regards, though its oily look sometimes turned me off. The effects and in particular explosions were very well animated, and many of the fights were quite solid in the animation department. Definitely above average.

The animation went to shit after the first few episodes, and the plot went when Biba was introduced in such a shitty manner. Not to say the story was the problem, it was the execution of it that was absolutely trash. Also, Mumei turned from besto to god-tier levels of autism real fast, 0 to 100 nigga real fuccin quick. clearly at 5/10 AT BEST and being nice about it, otherwise I'd say 3/10. Looked pretty and promising but failed to deliver, or better said it trainwrecked.

Honestly, its really hard for me to say. Usually I can narrow it down between at least two shows, but this season I'm torn between ConRevo, Flying Witch, Luluco,Kiznaiverand Tanaka-kun. Though if I had a gun to my head I'd probably pick Flying Witch because I don't think I ever watched that show without a stupid ear-to-ear grin on my face. It's really just gotten too dumb for me lately, far outweighing any benefits the anonymous system of free flowing discussion might have. Too many of the same threads every single day, too many people having no idea what the ever loving fuck they are talking about, too many obviously fake opinions being thrown out for replies, too much shitposting period. No new ideas being presented ever in pretty much the last calendar year. Unless something significantly changes by say the end of the month than just fuck it all really. Gonna give the newer mod staff some time to see if they can put in some work on getting rid of the worst of the worst garbage threads but not holding my breath. This was at one point the last anime related board I could sort of tolerate strictly because of anonymity not having to deal with any of the typical forum politics but it's no better than anywhere else nowadays and is somehow succumbing to stupid politics with the whole fuck every other board and find the AOTS and WAOTS crap. I don't know I just think I can't do how mind rottingly dumb the anime fanbase is in the 2010's every single place I try to go. It kind of gets what it deserves with a lot of the trash shows coming out lately.
