If you want. The first manga is only 2 volumes, wouldn't even take an afternoon to read. The anime adaptation of it is super faithful though, no reason to read it if you don't want to.
2wei though is a bit different from the manga. They added in filler because while there was too much material for 10 episodes there wasn't quite enough for 20, so like half of 2wei Herz is anime original. Also they completely botched the ending of Herz. You can tell because they tried to undo the damage as much as possible with the start of 3rei but the impact is already ruined.

I really don't like the adaptation for this. It's too energetic i think? Especially the part with Tanaka. The music is very happy and nice. The manga has this feeling of discomfort in the beginning of 3rei, even with Tanaka's jokes. The show really wasn't able to capture that feeling of not belonging in that universe from the manga. I's almost like the manga feels post apocalyptic-ish? It's hard to put into words.
