...Then again, that is an alias as she was never Japanese. So now we see that she didn't HAVE a family, that the Kagari clan somehow took her in as the head of their household.
This happens more often than you think. Japanese families don't care that much about genetics, it is well known for centuries that a powerful family is willing to adopt an heir from outside the family if they think that is better than what options they go internally. Many "family business" in Japan at some point deliberately get an outsider as their heir. So it is entirelyt plausable that Kazane being an End Witch was respectable enough to be selected.
But what of the old heir? What happened to the original head of the family? Sounds like she wants to get her position back.
Now it makes sense that Kazane hardly ever uses fire magic; she was NEVER a fire-user.

Kazane NOT being biologically a member of the Kagari clan, explains why she decided at some stage to move out. And it is now almost certain IMO, that at this stage of the flashback Ayaka doesn't exist yet. It is extremely unlikely that Kazane would have the facility to contain Ayaka in her cell, without first already being made the head of Kagari Clan and thus had access to their research facilities and buildings. This might mean Ayaka is getting dangerously young.
Then again, if my fanon on the firefox being Ayaka's past self, we can definitely then push her age back into being far older. You can never tell with magic.

We know that the FIRST thing in chronology, is whatever that left a scar on Honoka's mum and lead to the blood transfusion, and somehow what also scarred Ayaka. That source of injury is likely separate and unrelated from what Ayaka originally was.
So we know that Honoka became magical because his mum had a magical blood transfusion with Kazane. The Firefox likely would be linked to Ayaka's origins one way or another. And then separately we have the matter of the Kagari Clan and how Kazane replaced the original Head, who have since returned for revenge.

I wonder what is going to happen to THIS enemy? Because as we all know, Tanpopo, Medusa, 3B6 and Weekend all sort of got beaten back without being killed. But it seems this new enemy is far more dangerous and knows too much.
My speculation is that she might end up becoming 3B6's first real meal. This new threat is not likely to be allowed to live, and 3B6 already got cuntblocked once. I don't think Kazane or Ayaka would land the killing blow, so that leaves 3B6 to clean up. It would lead conveniently to when 3B6 start doing whatever she was planning when the final seal breaks.

What if the Firefox IS Kayou's Familiar? And somehow, Kazane captured it, exposing Kayou's schemes, and then made Ayaka using the firefix? That would make Ayaka in some way, Kayou's true daughter. Some other possible thoughts:
Keep in mind, from what we've seen, in present day Kayou was/is (trapped? sealed?) in a giant crystal cavern. Did she do that herself? Did Kazane? Apparently the rest of the 'natural' Kagari clan died(?) out not long aftre these events and Kazane + the Mikages took over their shindig.
That symbol on the obi, and Ayakacchi too, is one of the Japanese symbols for fire. It shows up everywhere in anime/manga. For easy examples, Mai Hime in Mai's schtick, and Naruto etc. at al.
It's possible that the firefox, if it's not Kayou's doing is loli Ayaka's doing if she exists in some way shape or form here. Perhaps she's already locked up in the Kagari atelier, and Kazane merely assumes 'responsibility' for looking aftre her with the rest of the estate.

I definitely am starting to warm up to the idea of Kayou being Ayaka's mother in some way, biological or magical. Hell, we already gave Honoka two mothers, not a stretch to do the same with Ayaka too.
They are too way too similar to each other in appearance.

It's fascinating isn't it? That after 50 chapters, Ayaka was still the only witch in the show who could turn herself into fire, with the closest creature being a fox monster? And I am also wondering why the Kagari House was not able to defeat it themselves? Either no one in the family had equivalent powers (which makes the fox even more unique) or Kayou was the mastermind and deliberately allowed the fox to have its rampage.
There are more than one possibilities here. But we also know that Kagari only seemed invincible because she taps into Evermillion's powers through Honoka. That despite being made of fire, she does have limits in her mana and normally isn't as indestructible without that extra magic reserve. It is just weird that we haven't seen any other Kagari member with similar powers. The Mikage family are more of a mind and memory control users.
