There's nothing wrong with it but it's pretty divisive. It's the least popular Part in Japan but it's not hated, you've probably just heard that it is from retards regurgitating shit. And it's actually fairly well liked by Western fans, though like all Parts there are people who hate it for various reasons. If you enjoyed 5 with it's shit translations then you'll enjoy 6 at least as much (only 5 has shit translations, everything after is really well done besides grammar fuck ups). Try not to speed through it though, people who rush Part 6 on their first read usually end up disliking it. It has some weaknesses like the main group never really getting time to bond and some of the Stands reaching the point where they're just too fucking weird but it's not bad by any means. People also don't like the ending which is understandable but a lot of them don't actually get the ending. Part 6 is kind of like Evangelion and it ends the series (Part 7 is a reboot completely unconnected to the first 6 and 8 is it's sequel) in a very bittersweet way. It also has practically no downtime, and even if it doesn't seem that way at first every fight has plot progression and it gets a bit full on with the plot always moving ahead at full pace.
You'll enjoy it I'm sure, it's not bad at all and both Jolyne and Pucci are excellent characters and Pucci is the most active and constant main villain in the series, he's practically a main character himself.

He wanted to focus more on their character development rather than give a bunch of people smaller character arcs. He wanted to try something bigger with each individual character. Some side characters still got shafted though since he didn't want SBR to be as long as it ended up being. It seems like he wanted to hurry up the Damo fight with the last chapter as well, given it's abruptness and the fact that putting your severed organs back in place after leaving Vitamin C's effect range magically reattaches them and that Araki didn't even bother showing us Josuke putting his liver back in or even picking it up or looking at it, just left us to guess what the fuck happened between panels.

They've retranslated the first half and it's great so far. Once it's done you should definitely go back to it. I've read the Japanese version and I can tell you that not only was every character butchered but the ending and all the Rome stuff became fucking unintelligible. GER feels like way less of an asspull and while not the best final battle in the series, it's not as bad as English makes it seem and the epilogue with Rolling Stones actually has a point to it. Not my favourite Part but the English translations really did it an injustice.

He's a clint eastwood type character, which is why he doesn't work as well as someone like Joseph who is the same age but much more likeable.
In part 4 and 6 he's an adult, and can play the same character and be stoic but be much more interesting. He's a man in his 30s with the "strongest" stand in the world and yet he's very composed and stoic, so you can have great moments like breaking David Bowie's face.

I doubt that Anakiss could have been anywhere near as bad, if at all, given how everyone in the new universe seemed to have led better lives and to be more gentle and innocent as a result. And I think we all wish we could've seen more of Jotaro. I liked him in every part he showed up in, but it was great seeing how he changed as he grew, and the influence he had on the people around him.

I don't think it was the crew that people had issues with, none of the characters are really hated or anything as far as I know. I'm pretty sure that the problems stemmed from some pacing issues with the story, and how fucking weird it got towards the end. I adore part 6 and nearly everyone in it and even I can admit that Heavy Weather is completely fucking stupid.
If I was going to change some stuff about it, I'd add an arc where Giorno showed up, possibly acting as an enemy at first. It seemed very strange that Gravity pulled DIO's other three children to Pucci, and even stranger that Giorno was the only one to miss out when it would've been great to see how he'd changed over the ten years or so of being the boss. It'd just be plain be cool to see how the 'heirs' of DIO and Jotaro interacted too, and would tie into the fate shit that ensnares the Joestar line.
And maybe add in some shit between when Jotaro returns and when Pucci and his MIH bullshit happen, the characters getting some actual time to settle down and bond and share experiences and shit would make the ultimate ending hurt even better.

I'd love that, but I really doubt that any studio would take such risks with an already-controversial part. It isn't like part 6 is hated, it's just the least popular. I could see changing it in an attempt to make it more popular backfiring, and fans getting mad about it being changed.
Still, SDC took a few liberties that worked better than the manga, I guess. Kakyoin's death and the reveal of DIO's powers was worlds (hee hee) better than it was in the manga. In the manga, Dio used his power for the first time, the audience saw it, Kakyoin got killed and figured it out, and that worked okay, but Kakyoin getting killed, figuring it out, and THEN it being shown worked way better and added more shock and emotion.
Here's hoping they manage the same with other parts, I have strong faith in them for the most part.

His Stand is called Speed King and hie had a really well done introduction and despite being a 32 year old man running a fruit business he's managed to be enigmatic and sinister at the same time. The last chapter also pretty much confirmed that he's going to be the main villain. His design is also cool. He hasn't had many appearances yet but after this chapter he'll be appearing more often, and in a more villainous role. He's also hot and loves raising different species of beetles for beetle fighting. When he's first introduced we get a 4 chapter long beetle fight with him which is actually a secret Stand battle with neither participant knowing it's a Stand battle. Despite just being two beetles pushing eachother out of a ring it's incredibly intense.

Makes sense really, I don't know though, I don't feel like Speed King would be a major villain's stand. With every villain in the series there was a particular feeling about them that made you -know- they would be the villain. I can't put my finger on it, but I can't feel it with Joubin, and I didn't feel it with Damo either when everyone said he was gonna be the main villain.

I feel Speed King has a really out there design that doesn't quite fit, even though I love it's leatherman-like design. We know from the volume release that it has an unknown ability and that making things he touches heat up is just one application of whatever his power actually is so I'm confident that if he is the main villain then his power at least will deliver. Could go either way though. Speed King is also a fucking excellent song.

Giorno is kind of meh but the hate comes from the shit translations. And 6 is pretty good just divisive on a bunch of stuff like Jolyne and the ending. If you enjoyed everything up to that point you'll enjoy it. It was hated when it first started serialisation in Shonen Jump but the Japs warmed to it over time. It's still the least popular Part over there but it's liked a lot better everywhere else.

Have fun reading anon, people don't really hate Giorno though, his personality and character isn't as out-there as the other Jojos, that's all. He actually gets a shit ton of badass moments, just be warned that part 5's scans are literally shit-tier and it affects the quality quite a bit.
People don't really hate part 6, it's a divisive part but I personally loved it and thought it was fucking fantastic, don't let our views change your opinion though, read up and have fun. This series is 10/10.

Don't get me wrong I actually liked it too, but a lot of people don't so I thought it was worth mentioning. My only issue is that some people STILL think that Part 7 is set in the Ireneverse. Even worse when they unironically think Araki is gonna tie everything back to the original universe when the whole point of SBR was to start with a blank canvas and write new stories without being limited by what he did in the past.
