I think both are true. Grisha definitely ties into all of this somehow, but as far as Isayama's brand of foreshadowing goes, he practically spelled it out with the scar. Because you know someone is controlling every aspect of it. Assuming that Zeke's arm was not drawn that way intentionally is negligent. And you can bet that Isayama knew that people would assume it was titan guts, and counted on that detail to further confuse the fuck out of everyone, and deliver his hint in a frustratingly indefinitive way. If Isayama's intention was to simply show that there's titan scum on Zeke, then why would he only draw it there? Why isn't it steaming as it evaporates?
