But what makes it great is that it manages to overcome those things. thats why the original anime is the best, sure its silly at times, but an ending where everyone gets consumed by war and betrayal was fitting and a perfect end
carrying on was just pointless, just so gutts can kill grifith? both have already been punished for all the killing they did: grifith lost his humanity, gutts watched everyone die/get lel raped

I agree it would probably go down as an undisputed masterpiece if it ended in such a shocking, bizarre, chaotic way. But ending it there would be like ending Star Wars with A New Hope.

However, if you were able to use one of them profficiently, taking in mind that Katanas are fucking useless against armors and most of their users would rather favour naginatas or yaris over katanas, and the Dragonslayer is basically a giant fucking hammer shaped like a sword, well just choose the hammer.
