I thought this way when I was 13-22, your horizons expand as you get older. That said socially speaking I believe I read that the socially "accepted" min age (in the USA) is 1/2x+7.(where x= age of eldest partner); so 20->17, 30->22, 40->27, 50->32
To someone in their late 30's like me, the idea of dating a 27yo is decidedly uncomfortable, it gets really hard to "relate" with people too far apart from your age
So what does that mean for this anime? The father is 29yo at the start of the series, and while 29->15/16 is a extreme, it's a lot closer to acceptable as the series goes on, as he's 31 and she's 17/18 currently. She's of legal age to marry him. Personally I like the way the manga handles the situation. She's a very admirable girl, someone who he's blessed to meet. I never felt like it was an unnatural attraction meant for titillation purposes.

I just can't get past this hideous character design. It's so jarringly bad. Like how do you enjoy a show that's supposed to be about a cute kid when the kid isn't even cute?
The background music is also really intrusive and overdone.
I feel bad for dropping it because I do like the loli seiyuu.
