What was /a/ like 10 years ago?
Just as shitty as nowadays.

Code Geass, Haruhi, Azumanga Daioh, Rozen Maiden, pastas fucking everywhere and good old lol.
less serious, more fun
Exactly the same
Way less elitism
way less cancerous faggots because the elitist mentality was working as intended and anime wasn't plagued with normalfags watching it ironically
>>143682253
There was no elitist mentality
People posted lol and XD faces and nobody cared
The elitism raised with the advent of leddit and tumblr and it never did any good
GAR xD
>next year is 10 years since Lucky Star
What an age.
>>143682281
those weren't cancer yet. now they are identifiers of cancerous faggots
>>143682638
They were extremely cancerous, more than anything you see today.
But because it was you doing since you were 15 at the time you think it was ok
It wasnt

you obviously didn't lurk 05-09

This right here.
The early days of /a/ were great because of the happy-go-lucky attitude we all had. /a/nons these days tend to be cynical assholes who get angry at almost anything. It's like there is no more room for joking around. And even if you make an attempt to have some fun its regarded as "shitposting".
>>143681245
good except if you wanted to have a discussion about Lucky Star
There was no post captcha and all was good.
>>143681245
>gore spam
>people actually had the balls to post cheese pizza to scare off faggots
>less ironic in shitposting
>baiting is worse than trolling

>/a/nons these days tend to be cynical assholes who get angry at almost anything
It's not /a/nons. It is a newfag-oriented concept. Newfags act overly-hostile in a poor attempt to fit in. That's why you see virtually any thread anywhere on the site quickly devolve into shitflinging and arguments over every imaginable topic, reduced to hurling personal attacks and insults back and forth.
4chan is a shithole because we have too many literal underage children who (obviously) do not possess higher-order cognitive thought processes required to make logical and rationale decisions.
I only started browsing 9 years ago but it was better than it is now. /a/ is basically /v/ lite at the moment, but it's notable that this transformation took place a lot slower than it did for most other boards because /a/ used to have a very xenophobic and conservative posting culture which kept board spirit alive for a considerable amount of time, things only got really shitty a couple years ago whereas /v/ was already far gone by late 2010.
>>143683028
It is /a/nons, new /a/nons that you just hate because you are old and jaded
>>143682946
You could also post every 30 seconds.
>>143681245
better
>>143683222
Well, as long as /a/ discusses anime and keeps on topic I think we're fine. On the few occasions I wandered onto /v/ I had to double check that I didn't hit /b/ by mistake.
>>143682946
I'd rather have captcha than non stop Accelspam. That shit got out of control fast.
>>143681245
>>143683310
No, they aren't /a/nons, they are /a/utists.
>>143682946
>Kimmo Alm
>Accelspammer
Yeah I'm fine with captcha, Famicom.
>>143683028
/a/'s average age has gone up though.
I think that is part of the problem. There are people like us, old and grumpy, and there are youngsters, and we don't really mash very well.
Many of the fun activities that the kids get up to are either boring or outright annoying to us now, and much of the "maturity" that we look for is incomprehensible to people still struggling with their adolescence.
Then there's other problems of course, like the politicization. We still call each others niggers and faggots, but going beyond that just evokes memories of /pol/ shitflings and is thus shunned.

I've been here for roughly the same amount of time and I feel /a/ is going strong. It's different, obviously. But I like it here.
